Morphing Potion

I own a Tonu. I've always wanted to paint it Halloween but looking at the Trading Post:

Halloween Paint Brush: 650-700k. I want to paint my Tonu by Halloween, but I don't have near that much! Okay, so I just look around, and find on the Trading Post, they sell a "Halloween Tonu Morphing Potion" for 210-300k. What I'm worried about is, does the Morphing Potion works on the same species? You know, using a Tonu Morphing Potion on a Tonu, it's not like its going to disappear... right? It will turn Halloween... right?

As an somewhat experienced Neopets player, this is the only thing that makes me unsure. I'm usually this paranoid (I always have a bad feeling in my gut when I'm using a Transmogrification potion). I'm just making sure that it'll work or not.

Morphing potions work equally well on any species, even on the same one.

It will turn your pet into a Halloween Tonu then the potion will disappear. That's regardless of what species/colour the pet was prior to the potion.
