'Boxing Day' is the British name for the 26th December. The name comes from many centuries ago when Churches would use the day to empty their gift boxes, count up the money and divide it to the local poor and needy. Why they only did this once a year is anyones guess.

Ummm, no. It is off the actual game, which is taken from the books - Warriors. Which is about domestic cats living in warrior clans.
I saw the Golden Compass on Boxing Day and there is nothing remotely similar to 'kitty cat (kittypet) or warrior.
