Trading Post BUG !

Thu Apr 03, 2008 11:10 am

I just offered a trading lot 700k for a blaster and then i had a news flash that the person closed the lot.

However, i didn't get my money back. No item as well. No nothing. I just lost 700k in a flash. Please tell me something is wrong. I checked my inventory, my bank but nothing at all! What's going on?!

Sorry to hear that :( Tis an ongoing glitch. Theres a thread in Neo Help (i think). Basically, the NP is gone :( Best bet for the future is to NM the trade owner and ask for a private auction. There have also been reports of people not receiving items after having offers accepted etc :( Its lame. Been a couple months at least now, and still nothing done about it.

I am sorry to hear this, Chakra.

I am still reeling from the 180K loss to the tp that I had a couple weeks ago, so I can imagine how badly you feel with a 700k loss.

I reported it to TNT, as I recommend that you do also for their information, and I received a form letter that said they are working on the problem and that I won't get my np back.

Something I wonder, I lost the 180k and didn't get the item, do the people offering the item for trade still have the item? Do they get the np that I lost and keep the item, too? Or do they lose the item and not get the np?

As has been stated, this bug has been around for a long time. It was first posted about here on February 10, almost two months ago! And TNT still hasn't fixed it!

For everyone, please try to stay away from the Trading Post, unless you really like to gamble with your Neopoints. Use auctions or regular shops to buy your items :)

I think the offered np just disappears. Otherwise I could see a huge amount of people exploiting it.

I'm considering putting up my YBlaster with a warning about the glitch, since it's an item that gets so many offers and haggles therefor getting numerous rejections or other offers accepted. People have the right to know if TNT isn't going to put up any sort of notice or take the TP down or ANYTHING. Ugh, sometimes I think they just don't care. More than usual.

Here's what happens:
The trade owner accepts one award out of many.
The script to return money to non-accepted awards should do just that, but does not.
The money disappears from the economy.
The item is sent to the purchaser.

The only person who loses is the one who sent in a non-accepted award.

Please, for the love of pete, if you are trading, reject all offers except the one you intend to accept.

Thank you for the reply, Shapu.

In my case, I offered for two of the same item and was accepted by both people who offered the trades. I received one of the items, and received a message that the second was also accepted and that the trade would be processed shortly, but the trade was never processed.

I thought since the np for the second trade vanished that I would receive the item, but I never did.

I also lost the shop income from an item I sold. I actually sold two of the same item, I think to the same person, and even though the np showed up in my till, when I tried to collect the np, only half showed up in my account- the amount for one of the items.

So I suspect a programming error that has something to do with when a person buys or sells two of the same items, whether from different people or the same people.

This is TNT's new way of removing neopoints from the economy.

Well my entire fortune (Bank + Stock + Current Money) adds up to roughly 5million. It took years to amass it and now it's down to 4.3million...

It hurts but what can i do about it. All i can do now is pray hard my stock rise up quickly so i can recoup some of the losses and then try to reach my target of 10million soon... Sometimes things just don't go your way.

Best bet is to pick yourself up and continue walking...

How to lose over a million HARD earned np in one afternoon...

Don't read the forums for a few months and then randomly get Neopets crazy again and decide to try buying those potions and paint brushes you've been saving so long for by offering on trades. Goodbye millions of NP! :(

I lost a few hundred thousand np because of this glitch a few weeks ago. Apparently this gltich has been going on for months now.

I wonder when TNT is going to fix this. I know that problems like this can't be fixed 1, 2, 3, but it's going on now for quite a while. Lots of people use the trading post, because you can't sell anything in your shop for over 100k. I wonder how many millions get lost a day because of this glitch.

They could close the trading post, and let us sell items in our shops up to 800k untill the glitch is fixed. At least that way no more people will lose their np.

I'm curious as to what happened in the first place that caused this bug. It was working fine for a couple of years, then all of a sudden it screws up big-time?
