Hello, I have been looking for this answer around and I can't seem to find it.
My (lab) pet has had low defense for a while and I want to level it up, however because it's hp is so high, I can't start leveling it until I enter a new codestone bracket by catching up half-way with leveling. If I do that, the extra codestone per training really racks up and it'd be quite cost-prohibitive.
Is there an affordable and reliable way to have my pet lose 2 hp?

I don't believe there is any way to remove HPs. I wish there was, cause I was stuck in the same position as you.

As of right now, we have yet to discover a way to remove maximum HP. You'll unfortunately have to train up to that extra codestone per course
I hope TNT releases more codestones to drive prices back down like they did in late October

I guess it makes sense; arguably you could get a pet at 0/0 hp; not sure what would happen then; probably just a feature they added to make sure things didn't get screwy. Rats.

I feel your pain. Oh so much. I need to get to
level 407 before I can up my defense of 10. I'm at level 17. *sobs*
I don't want to remove HP, but I wish they'd throw out that rule that your level has to be half of your highest stat.
Edit: just reread the thread and now understand that your issue was more with codestone brackets, oh. well I guess I just felt like complaining. lol

You could try the lab... but that's a bit on the risky side.
On training, I'd just use the lab. It's the most cost effective way. (Of course your pet and colour will change... and if you don't mind your neopet being gender confused...)

Yeah, but the lab hasn't taken away hitpoints in years. Starshards's pet would just get more unbalanced, alas.

Yeah but it is worth a try. I mean you never know unless you give it a shot. Who knows? This could be your lucky day.

Nah, we actually kinda do know. I've got years worth of lab zap data from thousands of people; if it were a 1 in 1,000,000 possibility, we'd have seen it by now.

I've been tracking my own lab ray statistics for over a year now. I have never seen any hit points removed, nor do I know anyone else who has seen it.

Yeah, the lab ray cannot remove hitpoints, and as far as I know never has been able to. Sorry dude. At least codestone prices have been pretty much halved compared to a while back! Or depending on your level (11-20?), the Academy might be cheaper.
