I noticed this morning that the
Fruit Machine was just made over. Its interesting, but not horrible

Hm. Not sure if I like it or not, but at least it isn't Flash, so I can use it on my iPod.
You can kinda predict if you will get a prize or not when the wheels start slowing down. Interesting...

I either can't load anything on my iPhone or I'm simply not patient enough. They really need to make an app.
As for the fruit machine, I suppose they're overhauling everything but the changes don't seem to be so different.. look at Coltzan's Shrine.

You're right.
Coltzan's Shrine looks similar to the new fruit machine.
One thing I don't like about the new fruit machine is that it takes longer. Sure, it's only 3-5 seconds, but that's a lot of time just waiting for fruit to spin.

One thing I liked about the Fruit Machine as a daily is that it was pretty instant and didn't require much loading or waiting on the user's part. With it in animation, however, it just adds more complications. Which wouldn't be much a bother, given I can just hit the button then work on something in another tab on my browser. Or at least that would be the case, but I think the animation pauses while you're not looking at it, delaying whatever prize you may get. Or do you get the prize regardless (that is if you win at all)? I must say I don't look forward to this appearing on Tombola, because it's pretty much the same principle.

I like being told what I got (or if I didn't get anything). The new wait is pretty annoying, especially because it won't go on while I have another tab up. I need to start opening it in a different window.

Yeah, I don't understand why TNT thinks improvement = clunky animation that runs slower. I wonder if these are signs that we'll be getting a complete overhaul of the LD map soon -- and whether said overhaul will come with a new plot.

There's nothing necessarily wrong with updating a design, especially given it's never been done since the release in the early 2000's. More so when the redesign is long overdue in consideration with the already redesigned Lost Desert when Prince Jazan showed up. But yes, it does feel like more a step back than forward in terms of ease of use.
