Question concering the new neggs...

Wed Aug 04, 2004 4:30 am

(Yes...I got ten minutes on the computer on the morning of my holiday if only to check if the neolodge was feeding my pets)

What better thing to wish someone Happy Birthday, Congratulations or Happy Anniversary that a celebratory Negg?

Now, can't you get frozen for even suggesting things remotely related to s*x? (Like how one person got frozen for saying, "what came first, the Pteri or the egg?" on a baby Pteri's lookup.) So, if you WERE to send this negg to someone, couldn't they freeze you for it, since anniversaries typically relate to marriage? Or can you send it as long as you don't send a neomail saying, "Happy Anniversary!" or, "Look what my husband gave me for our anniversery!" in a gallery, stuff like that? Or are you allowed to do such things since it is the Anniversary Negg?

Added: Or perhaps this negg is a ploy in order to catch those who "neodate" or otherwise discuss "relationships" on neopets and it sends up a red flag any time you send it to someone so moderators can look at you................... </boredness>

Anniversery doesn't just mean marriage. And marriage doesn't always mean s-x.

I think it's more for the users. Like "My husband (in real life) gave me this Negg" or "I'm going to give my wife (in real life) this negg as a neo-gift". It's for couples who both play Neopets.

could also be something like a guild anniversery or something like that. It's just to mark the passage of time.

Yep. Just because you are married it doesnt meen you have kids or have ... done the "nasty".

Marriages of convenience(I know that I spelled that wrong) are nice. *cough*Iwanttomarryarichwomanandthenhave"fun"withthemilkman*cough*

P.S: Are there even milkmen anymore?

what?! someone got frozen just for that? unbelieveable.. maybe it wasn't manual froze.. maybe the computer picked those few words out and assumed it was unappropriate...(<-spell that right?XD)

..I think its a sweet idea. My husband used to send me "chocolates" all the time from his account to mine, and I'd send him "teddy bears" and "Your the best" neogreetings.

This negg is just something we can say we saved for and both have one on our accounts. I think its sweet.

Perhaps neopets is just trying to help make the site multi-age again, instead of all child-aimed.

I agree. There are a lot of couples--both married and unmarried who play--Unmarried couples have anniversaries too--like first date, first kiss, etc. <3

It wouldn't surprise me to see these neggs and those funny little greeting cards sponsored by Hallmark in the near future!

That was my immedieate reaction upon reading this thread.
Then I went and looked at the neggs again and it's a negg with a big dimond solitaire on it.
That seems rather wedding-anniversery-ish to me.

I think it's cute though

it's cute, but i can see how it raised chris's concerns. it's kind of like the fake and near-identical items TNT releases: it just encourages people to break the rules. sure, it's just a cute little negg, prolly created with older, married players in mind (such as snowflake), but there is a great big no neodating rule and a warning about not using the site to look for significant others. but then they release this negg. "don't do certain things, kids, but here's some items that can be used to do them!"

i actually don't mind the negg personally, but i definitely see the problem with it.

There's no rule against couples who already existed playing Neopets. Those are the people they probably had in mind. They just don't want you to use the site as a dating service, but there is nothing stopping a couple from going on the site and saying they are already married.

Have these neggs even been released? (I know they have been released on the news, I mean released into circulation.) I want to save up for one to give to my boyfriend for our anniversary, but I don't see any of them.

I think it could be used for other anniversaries, such as your 4th year anniversary on neopets. which lady wouldn't want that diamond as an anniversary present for that :D
