If they got parental permission, then you're screwed.

I would say the parents are. :P
Just think of all the things they'll have to put up with, that their kid learned from the neoboards.
Ouch.

It's becoming an epidemic that kids around here, 10 - 14 years of age, write their school reports in 13375p34k/ch4t5p34k. My own nephew started doing this until recently when he was handed a school report full of F's for "not using proper English" which is being considered "obsolete" by some schoolkids.

They do that in SCHOOL?!? Good grief. I can't even think of any more to say.

If my brother and sister ever do that, I'll strangle them.

Agreed. I think the principal of my daughter's school would resign before allowing kids to get away with that in her school. There would be quite a few kids in detention!

And, Mari, if my school did allow that, I wouldn't homeschool. I'd be in every school administrator's face screaming about it. They really don't like it when I start screaming. :P

If you (speaking rhetorically of course) had children and Ch4t5p34k was being taught in place of the common English Language which is otherwise being used sparingly, would you send your kids to school or homeschool them yourselves?

I'm just wondering what teaches kids more these days...?

I seriously doubt they'd teach *ahem*speak in any school, though once the *ahem* generation grows up, I don't really know what to expect. Fortunately we'll probably be in positions by then to reject them for jobs and fire them all, but... 0:)

Being as I was homeschooled from 1st - 12th, I'd say homeschooling, but I wasn't in public school long enough to know (1 year - kindergarten, which I mostly found useless at the time). The only disadvantages of homeschooling I can think of are a temptation to procrastinate throughout the day, since you can make your own schedule and do stuff whenever you want, and the fact that depending on who you are, you can get a prideful feeling of superiority to the rest of the students in college, except for the random kids who are geniouses.

Although i'd just love to let this debate on how children are being raised now a days continue (<- sarcasm), you guys are way off topic.
This is not the place to discuss homeschooling versus public schooling, or flaunt your superiority (imagined or not).

Locked.
