Broken Promises?

Sun May 28, 2006 2:41 am

Hey.. So my account was frozen. No major offense, but I stupidly thought that I was in my main account, but was in a side account. I played a game. So TNT iced me, and after writing them and explaining the situation, they said that they would unfreeze one of my accounts, of my choice. So I replied to their email, and never got a reply back, nor was my account unfrozen. So I emailed them again, and.. got another email, saying the same thing. Not some automated response. Replied to that email, telling them which account I would like to have unfrozen, and... nothing. Nothing. So I emailed them again, just to make sure they hadn't not opened my email. Nothing. Emailed again.. and still nothing. I gave up. I only now have started to think about emailing them again, but I don't want to bother them or anything, but would like my account back. =/
Does this, um, happen often?
I'm not a Newbie on Neopets, and have only been frozen once before, and that was a long time ago. So I'm not too sure what my next step or anything would be.

Help?

Thanks!

I think I would just keep emailing, staying polite and nice. Not too frequent, once a week would be OK. Eventually they'll do something about it, but it may take some time. You're lucky that they already promised to unfreeze one of your accounts, but I can imagine that you're not too happy with what happens (or actually does not happen) now.

Good luck!

I'm certain TNT said in a recent editorial that mistakingly playing a game on a side account wasn't a freezable offense, so long as you didn't "make a habit of it." That they froze all your accounts sounds... weird to me. I've only been on the site for 8 months, though, so I'm not too familiar with TNT's actual policy.

Anyway, I'd do what Elwing_elfje said and e-mail them once a week about it, maybe even attach the e-mail they sent you saying you could get one of your accounts back (although why you wouldn't get both back is beyond me o_O ). I'd also point out what they wrote in this editorial here:

Doing much of ANYTHING on our extra accounts could result in losing all of the things we've honestly worked so hard for. I've heard so many stories where people didn't realize they were in their side account, and played a game or something and were frozen. My suggestion is that we have another default sidebar, so that we can all easily tell our accounts apart! Please? We honest players could use another safeguard... ~ magicpinball

Don't worry; we ourselves have all done that before. If you've made a mistake and have accidentally done a daily or played a couple games in an alt account thinking it was your main, no need to freak out. Just don't do that particular daily or play those games in your main on that day. We know accidents like that can happen. Just don't turn an occasional mistake into a habit of "accidentally" playing in your alts. That's when you'll be frozen.

Bold is mine.

Good luck getting your accounts back.

Just keep polite and persistent. Do you still have the emails saying they'd unfreeze one of your accounts, because it might be useful to include that in your emails if you're not already. Be patient with them, there are alot of other people out there who are trying to be unfrozenh. Just make sure you don't lose your patience with them, carry on being polite and reasonable, and eventually you should be sucessful. Just be prepared for a wait. Good luck :)
