I think part of the reason everyone's all "OMG ANOTHER Usul in a plot BLEH" is that there were two plots back to back with an Usul as a starring character, and now we have another one. It's just overkill, is all. I personally don't find Usuls all that repulsive, though they're not my favorite pet either. (I'm a Blumaroo fan meself.)
I liked Hannah as a character (though her plot was awful), and in the CoM plot I thought it was creative to have a male Usul as a lead, since Usuls are almost invariably female. And even in this plot, I like the reuse of Ginny. It's just too bad she's an Usul too.
I'm not *that* tired of seeing them crop up, it's just that I'd much rather see other species have a turn in the spotlight. Usuls, Aishas, and Lupes aren't the only species in Neopia. Seriously, when was the last time we <i>didn't</i> have a plot with those three species playing either primary or secondary roles?
And uh, by the way, those of you whose lab pets are "stuck" as Usuls? If they bother you that much, you can always buy a Green Uni or Blue Pteri Morphing potion and clear that right up.
They're relatively cheap. Just throwing that out there so you don't have to suffer.
