Yes, indeed, they have no need whatsoever to ask for your password because they already know all of them. They obviously have them stored somewhere--or else we wouldn't be able do a lost password request.
EDIT: And, even though you changed your password, check your user preferences to make sure they didn't change your email address to one of their own. And, if that has changed, change it back to your old email address and change your password once again. Otherwise, they could just do a lost password request and have your new password go to their email address instead of yours--and get into your account that way.
