I finally got around to remove all 295 items from my gallery of the Advent calendar items of Christmas' past, and now I want to make a new gallery.

The theme is "In the Attic", and revolves around things you stereotypically find when cleaning out an attic.

I want the items to be good and relevant, as I'm thinking of submitting it for the spotlight, so don't suggest anything you don't think is a really good idea (Things like Spider Webs are good, things like Monkeys are bad etc)

All help is appreciated :D

Dust! *lol*

Hmm ok more seriously, how about broken and/or rickety looking furniture? Maybe stuff from the Neovian furniture shop? And 'antique' books? Or really retro-looking items. Don't know if Neo has items similar to old photo albums?

In thinking of whats up in my attic at the moment, I know I have holiday decorations there, and clothes. Maybe some outdated clothing from Neovia too would work? Also broken items may work up there too.

If you want to go the way of dust, there's always:

- Dust Motes
- Dust Covered Sandwich
- Dusty Old Tambourine
- Dusty Harmless Looking Scroll

I think that books are a very common attic item. You may want to stick to books that are damaged in some way because thats likely to happen in storage.

I think a Piano is a pretty common attic item, particularly a broken one but I don't know if its possible to break a piano.

Boxes! Lots of boxes... uhm theres the Soggy Old Box.

Any petpets that are vermin like.. So maybe a Bartamus or a Spyder, or a Whoot or a Flightning Bug, or a Tigermouse.

Other cool things that struck me as attic like:
- Wooden Telescope
- Abacus
- Wooden Toy Box
- Flat Tyred Golden Bike
- Tattered Waistcoat
- Tattered Cap
- Anything Disco
- Pirates Chest
- Framed Neopian Times
- Ladder (that might be more of a garage item..)

OK, I am thinking of what's in my attic right now. Old fashioned toys, like the wooden ones, the baby doll, the bear, the set of marbles. Definitely some of the old-fashioned Christmas ornaments and maybe the plastic fir (we keep our artificial tree in the attic). How about a diary and a few photo albums or scrapbooks? One of those old fashioned sleds that we got from the Advent calendar (ala Rosebud). Sophies rocking chair, the hat stand and the dark spooky candle. And some of the Neovian furniture and clothes would be perfect, like the old fashioned photo of Aunt Alice and the gas lamp. The Bagetelle stuff might fit in too, like the Bagatelle treasure chest and purse. And don't forget the sheet-covered furniture. And as someone said earlier, the dusty old tambourine and sandwich, complete with their own cobwebs. Maybe some old newspapers, like the Haunted Woods Reader. And some of the fishing stuff would work like the waterlogged book and broken sailboat. Souvenirs from past vacations, like the tacky stuff you see in the Tiki Taki shop--the Shell acara totem, hularoo, the island lighter, the souvenir magnet--and maybe a sea shell or two, the roo island photo frame. Old fashioned and broken jewelry that was handed down through the generations, like the broken heart pendant, silver heart charm bracelet. Old sports awards and trophies, like the sledding trophy, blue ribbon, golden medallion. And I keep old greeting cards, so maybe some that are rather special, like the one that says Youre the best or the Chia holiday greeting card.

Oh my gosh, look at that list I've made above. Hehehe. I've sure got a lot of junk in my attic. :roflol:

You might want to check out Neoitems. And go page by page through the active list. It is time consuming (I've done it a few times when searching for my plushies) but you might find things that strike your fancy.

And, hey, the idea for your gallery is so cool. I am crossing my fingers that you get gallery spotlight. :roflol:

I was just in my attic this weekend looking for a box of old hats, and I think this is a really good idea for a gallery.

A lot of my ideas have already been said, but I'd like to add the idea of maybe some of the more ragged plushies, as that's where they go to live out their days in my house. Maybe like the Repaired Meepit Plushie or some of the ripped/headless ones.

Also, no matter how many times I clean my attic, somehow everytime I go up there I find a bit of food someone has left and it's gotten all mouldy. So maybe a piece of mouldy cheese? The Mouldy Petpet Bed may also go nicely with your theme.

I went through my SDB looking for ideas. As a plus, most of them are from past Advent Calendars, so you don't have to buy them.

Patched Magic Hat(looks like part of an old favorite Halloween costume)
Wooden Marble(ever notice how much stuff in the attic seems to be made of wood?)
Chia Print Chair(serviceable furniture that you can't use because it looks hideous)
Handful of Sand(to go with the "dusty and dirty" theme of attics, the sand just looks dirty)
Sophies Rocking Chair(there's always one)
Bucket of Fake Snow(because something has to be knocked over and spilling its contents)
Broken Astrolabe(if it's broke, it goes in the attic)
Neopian Times Year 6 Annual(because who reads anything with "Annual" at the end?)
A Ruki Christmas(looks like a book being held together with tape)
Bucket o Water(you'll get around to cleaning up here some day!)
Cozy Red Snow Jumper(that sweater your aunt Millie gives you for Christmas and you hate it instantly)
Walking Carpet(adorable, but it does so look like a dust mite or something moldy)

In general, I suggest:
--books without Neopets or titles on the cover
--Hideous-looking clothing or furniture
--stuff that's broken down or generally "junky"--rotten shoes, ripped plushies, etc.
--anything that looks old or mysterious
--you might have a changing "out of season" section--for instance, Christmas stuff now, Halloween stuff in February, Valentine's stuff in August. Because everything goes in the attic after the holiday.

Dust, webs, spyders, books, old furniture. Maybe some retired items.
