I have only periodically been logging into Neopets to keep my account active - I have forgotten to do so for about 3 months; and now my account is frozen?!

This account has been FROZEN for the following reason:

Due to potentially suspicious activity on this username, it has been frozen for the owner's protection. This can include falling for a scam or entering information into a fake login page. If you would like information on getting this account back, please contact us by clicking here.

I have never had a virus or a keylogger on my computer, have never cheated, the only thing I can think of is about 6 months ago I got a new router and changed ISP, and changed my registered email address. Is there anyone I can contact - without using their terrible support form, to try and get my account back?

.... 3 million NP down the drain, if not. :(

From what I've heard lately, TNT actually responds pretty quickly these days; many get their account back within 1-2 weeks. So just fill out the report form with as much info as you can remember. Good luck!

Good idea - I sent a report in anyway. Trouble is, because I haven't actually been playing, and I've only remembered a few basic details - I don't think I've given as much information!

I'm really curious as to why I was frozen, though! Suspicious activity? I do wish, when they freeze you, they actually refer to the "incident" in question! I haven't played in a good year or so, I've just been keeping it active - so what could I of done that was suspicious? Not spent enough time on the site, perhaps? :P

Thanks.

The 'fell for a scam' reason for being frozen is accurate roughly 70% of the time (the other 30% is usually a mistake by TNT or they couldn't find another reason to put there). Assuming this is your first time being frozen for such a reason, you'll likely get your account back pretty quickly (hopefully within a week or two). If you provided some basic info such as the email and the password for the account (the stocks, trades, inventory, SDB, etc. part is less important), you have a good chance of having it uniced. I wish you the best of luck!

Well done, Neopets Team. I had been a member of your community since Adam launched the site - but now, it appears my days are over.

Hello,

Thanks for your e-mail. While we understand the importance of your account, we are required to use the evidence that we have in our records. Based on this evidence, we are unable to return this account to you. It is your responsibility to make sure your account stays safe. Never give out your passwords or personal information, and use common sense when browsing the internet. If you are using a public access computer, such as in your school or library, please remember to always logout of your account. We are sorry, but we will not return this account.

If you have any other questions, don't forget to include the entire text of this e-mail with your username clearly at the top. This will help me better address your situation.

Brandon B.

I'll stick pop in here from time to time - but my account is at least 5 years old, and I had 3/4 million NP. Considering they won't return my account, I really cannot be bothered to keep playing.

:/

Littleboy, I've heard that sometimes it takes a bit of back and forth to get your account back. Did they give you specifics on why you were frozen? I'd follow up with Brandon and ask for more details -- politely, but firmly, stating clearly that you only rarely log on, never visit other sites, etc., and don't understand how anyone could have gotten access to your account, but you're sure there must be a mistake. Hopefully he'll provide you with more info, and you can clear up the misunderstanding.

I've decided to drop him another email asking for specifics. How can he expect me to remember every tiny detail of my account, when I haven't actually played/logged on in about 6 months!?

I'm getting ready to pull out my hair, to be honest. :(

I have been playing my account on a regular basis and on monday 2/08/2010 when I went to log into it I got this message

Due to potentially suspicious activity on this username, it has been frozen for the owner's protection. This can include falling for a scam or entering information into a fake login page. If you would like information on getting this account back, please contact us by clicking here.

I have only been with neopets about 8 months and have earned a lot of money and spent a lot of money and i have donated to the money tree some to where it did not look like i was so greedy

I had just recently upgraded my account about 3 weeks ago to the neopian riches category cause I have finally made the 10 million mark

and now I cannot assess my account. and dont feel like starting all over again.. cause it was hard to get that much money

any suggestion of what i could have done wrong?

only thing i can think that i done wrong is i was using my home internet connecting then when i went to see my girlfriend i was using a public library to do my neopets.

Big Farm Man, go ahead and submit a report to try to get your account back. What might have happened is that you left it logged in at the library, and someone after you got into your account that way. It's an honest mistake, so hopefully you'll get your account back.

FYI, if you're not sure whether you logged off on another computer, just log in anywhere -- that'll log you off from the other computer. Then change your password right away.

Good luck to both of you in getting your accounts back. It might take some time and back-and-forth with TNT, but if you're polite yet insistent that you weren't trying to cheat or anything, hopefully you'll get them back.
