I don't see that happening anytime in near future. Even if we were to do that, we'd still get registered lurkers who will post the minimum and still get the hints needed. Either way, the answer will not be as safe as you propose. With the exception of the usergroups, these boards are public will remain that way.
I understand that people will still get the minimum numbers of posts so they can see the board, but if say, they had to get 250 posts (I myself would not even be able to see this board yet) then after posting 250 times they would get to know the people here and what we do and would probably be less inclined to blab to the boards. Perhaps its just me?
I agree totally. Although i did get past the 250 post votes, i feel that even if a person has recorded few posts they should be nice enough to leave a hint or two. I myself have gotten TONS of help here. I just feel that it is right for us to like work the "water cycle" and recycle the help we have gotten. By returning favours here and there, everyone will benefit!

You may not know when someone else would be giving YOU the hint and helping YOU earn that special trophy or extra neopoints!

i am very thanklful to help. the whole point of the mystery pic is the chase but a chase that can be done. that is why i think neopets should be a real mystery that is they should provide clues

It's ideal, but you're expecting too much. What about people who want to look at this thread for some reference, but prefer to work in groups on their own and don't want to register. In their own part they're helping out others just as much as this thread. In my mind, this is a resouce that shouldn't be restricted by whatever means.
THis is likely not the only Neopets forum with a section on the Mystery Pic, stuff like this will be leaked one way or another. If it happens that a lot of people use PPT as it is, it happens.
