On June 14th (Dirt Day), I got... Dirt Pie
In the news for June 14th, there was this item:
"There have been reports of some strange events taking place near a rather suspicious looking hole in the ground in Meridell..."
I vaguely remember when I got the Dirt Pie that there was a comment about everyone visiting the Symol Hole that day would get dirt in celebration of dirt day.

Heh, I remember that also. However there was also a glitch that day that some people weren't able to get their pie. I never got my pie ;(

Yeah, I didn't get my dirt pie! LOL
I however in the past got 149nps, twice "your petpet looks different somehow", once got the petpet's level raised (that was when I got the avatar).
I do it once per day as part of my dailies...took me about 6 months to see an Av.

I never got my pie either. Once I got a turtum plushie or something, along with the avatar, and a small amount of neopoints another time, but that's it. I still keep trying though.
Also on Gondra's new neopet dailies site it says that you can try the symol hole every hour.

I used to go with my one pet all the time, and never got anything, but this past week I switched to a different pet, and I got the "Looks somehow different" one. Really freaked my out b/c the petpet is a Baby Vampire, which is rather old and is apparently turned into something else by now. Thank goodness nothing happened to him!

Hang on, (Petpet's name) looks somehow different...
That's all I've ever got. It doesn't do anything to your Petpet so technically I've never gotten anything good, even though I go to the Symol hole twice a day
