I hope they don't have too much of a blast - could drastically alter the economy!

I dont see how it could alter the economy at all. People pay to play the game, if somebody wins its a zero sum gain.

someone won? no kidding? The NeoDex Article must be updated! :o

Right, what if someone won and got a random event of Sloth taking away 20% of the neopoints? That would be just UNLUCKY!

But if that person really won and it glitched when he/she deposted it, I don't think it's a glitch. It may be TNT taking away all his/her nps. So if this is true, maybe the next time someone won, he/she would also get the same "glitch". But I may be wrong.

Just wanna ask, will the score be higher if my pet is stronger (has more strength points, as in)?

That would be incredibly mean, wouldn't it? For them to make is possible to win all that money, but then you loose it an in a purposeful glitch? If they didn't want anyone to have all that money, they should just make the jackpot unwinable.

My guess would be if someone said that, it's either:
1 It was a random insanely unlucky glitch
2 They are lying about the glitch because the don't want to be bombarded with beggars and scammers.
3 They lied about the whole thing just to mess with people.

I would hope TNT wouldn't be mean enough to tease someone with that much money.

It could just be a built in glitch that will not let you deposit over, say 5 mil NP... you know, to ward off hackers and stuff...

Mon Sep 04, 2006 1:26 pm

if it would've glitched, they could've just kept their money on them. worst case scenario is that they lose 20% of it, at which point they would almost permanently have the #1 tax beast trophy

Mon Sep 04, 2006 1:28 pm

And they would still have more than enough money to last them, too...

How much was it exactly?

If it was 300k then thats not really THAT much, but if it was 3mill, I would like that :3

*dies* Wow. Last time I even looked at that thing it was at ...200 million I believe?

But I'm not sure if I'd really want to win all that NP, since then I'd more than likely never have to save up for anything for as long as I live, and that would probably make me quit Neo for good after buying the two things I want.

ride on the intrest on the bank and be rich :peace:

"Being rich" doesn't mean a whole lot. I mean, wow, you have a lot of Neopoints. So...what? You're just gonna...sort of...have them? Personally, I agree with Xero about quitting. After winning that many Neopoints and using them to buy everything I wanted, there'd be nothing left for me to work for. Thus, no point in having that much NP.

Yes, there's new things and new pets that come out pretty often, but again, with that much NP you could buy it almost instantly. I'm sure most people would love to be able to do that, but I find it kind of boring, and not very smart, financially speaking. I don't post on the Neoboards, nor am I involved in any guilds, so I'm not worried about having the clout that comes with being the first to own something, which vanishes pretty quickly anyway.

I'd like to think that if ever did have that much NP fall in my lap, I'd use the interest to create dream pets for people, or just give it away. But the instant word gets out about you being rich and generous, you get all sorts of beggars whining about how poor they are and could you maybe give them a petpet/faerie PB/Sword of Skardsen or whatever. Or people that just demand that you give them something, because it's not fair that you be rich and not them. (Which is what their reasoning boils down to, basically.)

Maybe y'all can handle it, but I can't. Not without resorting to things that would get me banned or becoming a total Neopian recluse. Which is another reason why I'd most likely quit. For a very, very long time, if not forever.

I think TNT probably reset it, because yeah, 755 mil would make playing Neopets utterly pointless. :P If I were the winner, I'd keep mum about having the np and entertain myself by randomly tossing paint brushes and stuff into the Rubbish Dump (with side accounts, mind you, so as not to attract hackers/scammers/beggars/scum in general) - just to mess with people. But even so, the thrill would be gone pretty quickly. Dx

hmmm, everyone seems so hung up about the boredom with having so much NP. What about the freedom it grants you? you work hard to get your neopoints, and that takes away from you everyday life, and the enjoyment of actually playing the game of Neopets. It shouldn't have to be a chore to have fun, but just to be fun. and i happen to think having that much NP would grant that freedom. It's very wanted indeed. :)
