Indeed, you can map. Although I didn't need to in this case.
Are we assuming that as the comic itself says
"to be continued" there isn't another "solveable" bit to do till the next update?

Is mapping even possible?
Yes. Some people like to handdraw - I liked to copy and paste into Paint.
I take a screenie - shrink it and add each new screenie to my "map" - it allowed me to see how many screens of paths there where (20). I only had only seen 18 screens so I knew I still wasn't going down the right pathways.
When I knew what path lead where - I would draw a line linking the images. It didn't have to show where every path lead, as long as I knew where to go.
I done it very rough (as it was only a small map) compared to the HUGE map I did for the LDP. (still grumbling over the temple)
If you start again do you keep your meepits? And are there any dead ends?
I am not too sure what you mean. You cannot actually restart a level in the plot - you have to continue with where you are up to.
If you leave your screen, it will still open to the last step you where on.
I never found any dead ends in the meepit level, but in the vine level I came across one. I refreshed and it sent me somewhere else. Leaving and coming back worked as well. (that is when I started mapping - I kept finding the deadend).

I wonder if anyone else has finished the dancing meepit part
*of course some people are done with it; what's wrong with me?* ....but anyway chapter 4 is so cool! To anyone reading the latest comic, won't you wonder if we will encounter the spirit of slumber in the forest? hmmm....just wondering....

First off: it IS possible to map, but I don't think it's necessary. You aren't going back to the same place, are you? This is NOT the Lost Desert Plot! The woods are NOTHING like the Temple of 1000 Tombs (i.e. less complicated) and you probably won't need to go back to the same place again, so why bother mapping?
Secondly, the dancing Meepits part is not that hard. To catch a Meepit just give it the juice, and DO NOT click it directly. Then when you have all 7 just go to the place with 7 bright spots in front of a big stone door, and then click on a spot. All the Meepits will appear, and some will be dancing. A few will be SAD so switch those around so they aren't sad anymore. To make them dance switch Meepits until they ALL dance. THEN you're done...

Wow... that was incredibly frustrating... yet very fun. XD
I feel like a lunatic for spending forever mapping out the deep woods. But I'm glad I did it in the end, cuz it was then pretty easy to find all my meepits and get back to the dancing bit.
I'm jealous of you guys who say you got it all done easily with random clicking. That rarely works for me. I went nuts trying to find the last of my vines by random clicking, I eventually had to map the first part of the woods. I can't imagine how insane I would have gone trying to find the meepits with random clicking. 0_o
For anyone who might still be stuck on the vines: I tried everyone's suggested methods for figuring out the right combination, but the only one that worked was the one AySz88 posted, quite a few splits back. None of the others worked for me. Although I admit I didn't carefully read the recent ones people have posted, I skimmed though most of the last split because I'd already done it. But it's pretty simple, all you have to do is figure out which vine types are strong and weak for you.
Also, I concur, Sophie rocks more and more with each chapter. ^__^

ooooh.. .then I guess I shouldn't tell you that there was a meepit on every screen, and then the next screen after the 7th meepit was the "entrance" place?
lol, guess I was incredibly lucky, don't worry I'll get hideously stuck later on in the plot and have to spend hours banging my head against my desk.

i was doing alright in the beginning, found the door, but i hadn't found any meepit, then i found all the meepits and it's taken me 2 days random clicking just to find the stone door again! I just kept going round in circles

O..M..Bob
Tha clicking was about to make me go mental. I really hope we don't have to keep doing the clicky roads. It was making my head wanna explode.

answers the question.
Some people require mapping even if it is only a "mud map", so they aren't wandering around in circles for days. It doesn't matter how hard or easy the maze is - if you can't remember what path/s you have taken, then you need to map.
Not everyone has a photographic memory.

Ditto on that. I drew a rough map, just enough for me to not get horrendously lost, but it still made my head spin.
Took ages to get all my Meepits.
Darn you, Meepits! *shakes fist*

After a while it wasn't so bad, I kinda knew which ones would take me where. But it wasn't a necessity for me to draw out a map .. partially because I caught up on the plot at 1am and I wasn't about to stay up til 4am drawing out a map, lol.
