First thing I want to say is...Fiddely, that is one of the funniest stories I've ever heard. I can't believe someone who claims to want to go into psychology first of all can't even spell the word, and second of all doesn't even know who Freud is. I'm sorry, but that's just hilarious.

Which kinda brings me to my next point. Rudeness happens, and when it does, we have to take a mature approach to it, even if just means to not sink down to their level. Stupid people can be very rude, and who wants to deal with stupid people? No one. They all have their own reasons as to why they're rude, whether they feel the need to control others, or they need an ego trip, or something is happening in their life, or whether they were raised to be that way. I don't blame you for messaging the person asking for an apology, but considering the fact that the flamer didn't even read through your message...you might have wanted to approach it a bit more carefully. I think her last response and action relays a message of confusion and maybe even embarassment. If I was her, I would have been embarassed. But see, atleast I would have admitted at being at fault. Instead, she felt insecure and closed herself off from you.

In this case...forgive and forget. She didn't know what she was talking about, and I'm sure if she wasn't so insecure, she would have appologized, which covers the forgiveness aspect. As for forgetting, this kind of thing isn't worth remembering, unless it happens again. In that instance, you will know how better to treat it.

Good luck with your gallery btw :)

Dear xyz,

I am truely sorry that i offended you with my post. Having been on neopets for only 3 years, i would like to apologise for my newbieness. I didn't realise that asking people to help me calculate the price of my shop was a bad thing. i am so very ashamed. i promise not to do it again...really..please do not report me *beg, whine* i am poor and i can only afford to feed my pet dung from the money tree. If you report me for asking perfectly sane questions then my poor pets will be frozen and will never be able to look forward to a warm dung dinner. I will throw myself on your mercy and i know that you have good heart...somewhere deep deep deep deep deep inside. Wishing you a good beef Jerky day.

What a strange thread this is! The world of Neopets never ceases to amaze me.

Rudeness on the boards will always happen, people come from different backgrounds, different lifestyles, different thought processes, and the boards tend to be very fast moving.
It's always best to put a bit of emotional armour on before venturing in I find.

I've noticed that everyone is being very very sympathetic, which is a good thing. However I must point out that, like M.E., I thought your neomails to the mistaken person were probably not the best way forward. It's a good idea to step back and cool off before taking up these sorts of battles. Remember you're talking to a total stranger and what sounds fine in your head might sound like a really arsy beasty in their head. The internet is a weird and wonderful thing...but lacks tone :)

Some folk on the Help Chat can be very rude, often needlessly. I wouldn't take it too seriously. Although I agree with MatrixEquestrian. You did demand an apology and that can really iritate someone to the point of not thinking straight.
