Bleh!! Avatar released to public!...and horrible banner news

Ok I defended the current top banner but there is absolutely no way Im defending the ugly thing they wanna stick at the top of my screen now. It doesnt blend in at all, it just looks like someone got a cut out and gave a 5 year old the job of sticking it at the top. Its horrible, it makes the whole page look unprofessional, and then to add insult to injury it seems to me like they are trying to bribe us with an avatar that alot of people have expressed an interest in.

I feel for people with dial up cos your computer is probably gonna lag like mad now.

Please reconsider TNT!

xjox, I'm sure the final layout will incorporate the banner with the rest of the page more (like the current one does). I think this was just a quick example so they could show us how big the banner will be.

Eeek! That banner is huge! I understand that neo needs it in order to keep the site up, but that is a bit too much! And if any programers are reading this, can you please at least add a thin border around the banner, it looks weird with out it.

I'm happy about the avatar, but as to the banner I have a couple different reactions.

1. My first reaction was gratitude that they at least gave us some warning and explained some stuff. I think that was good of them

2. My reaction to the banner itself, was annoyance. The banner is large and I don't like it, at all.

I also thought that well if it keeps Neopets free I can deal with it. I do hope that they tone down the banners though, some of them are very distracting and eye catching, and some of them give me slight headaches.

I guess I'll get used to the bigger banner just like I got used to the current banner size.

I can't wait until they use one of those "Congratulations! You are the #01938985948942 visitor!!! Click here to collect your prize!!!" ads that give me a seizure. Hey, they used the free iPod one, so they might just use one of these, too.

I dont really mind the new banner, yes it annoys me but when you think what this will mean in the long run for the site it makes up for the annoyance (well i think it does)

And i have to agree with coming2atvnearu at least they were 100% honest with us what would annoy you more that they do it this way and tell us now or just suddenly go on neo one day and see it like this, at least they gave us some warning

Sure, we're all disappointed about the banne, but that's small fries ladies and gentlemen.

The Neopets Team took initiative and were 100% completely upfront and honest with all of us. Whether or not you agree with their decision is one thing, but you need to respect and admire the way that they've switched around the way that they are communicating with all of us.

If I hadn't been trying to figure out spelling mistakes for the post on zee front page, I'd've posted something along these lines too.

Our good friend Steve has brought up a very big point. They've went and done something that hasn't exactly been done before. By posting this, The Neopets Team not only displayed a very honest thing to us, but they took the effort to explain to a lot of people that things were going to get a bit more heckled, but it wouldn't be too bad.

I dunno, it's one thing to be one person saying sorry to another person, but its another to be a staff to a couple of million. Even if Im not a fan of the banner(though I like where they put the userinfo). They still gots my respect, yo'

The Bleh! avatar for something that TNT thinks is bleh! Very appropiate. I think the new banner size will suck. But I use Firefox with the Ad Block extension so I will not see anyhow.
