i've apparently missed something. should i be keeping track of the types of doors i try for getting the spike trap? should i be going through them by color, symbol, what?

Well, I've tried the subtraction theory 3 times ... and it didn't work for me. Subtract the total crystal from the first crystal ... end up with 8 scrolls to look up.
I read them in tablet order ... and got no special message.
I've also tried an "opposite" theory, by reading the opposite color of the secondary color I had. no special messages, either.
I tried reading the 12 subtracted scrolls in the previous order (R Y B card catalog order for me) ... but that didn't work, either.
Something is special about some people's order perhaps ... that makes it work.

Glor, I don't know. I can tell you that I tried 2 different blue doors and got sanded in both of those. Whether that means that all wrong blue doors would sand me, I don't know. Once I found the spikes (4th try) I stopped.

OK, so the subtraction of colors/reading only 8 non-repeating color scrolls does NOT work. Rats.

I know I doubted you, but now I also want to thank you. Alot of us have been hanging on for months gnashing our teeth whenever we had to wait for the next point, or doing insanely tedious things like placing furniture. It's very nice of you to show up here and give encouragement, without making it too easy on us. It's great to know we haven't been forgotten.
