I've heard a rumour that it's catching a Giant Squid. (I can't be bothered to read back through all those posts so correct me if I'm wrong.)

so it's a fair bet that if the avatar is gained through catching an item then that item will be the Titanic Giant Squid

I have and other have as well. The best way to tell is to check the Shop Wizard. If the item is really cheap (under 50k for example) then you can probably safely assume that people have been catching it regularly for awhile

There is Brown, Green and Red Kelp all of which I've caught

Whats up with all the lame prizes? This is sorta like the junk pile if you think about it... cept its free. O and what exactly do you mean by you fish with each pet? I've used the same pet for every time...

I don't think its so much that they're lame prizes it just that heeeaps of people are playing the game a deflating the prices of the items making them look really undesireable.

You can fish with each pet by going to Quick Ref, changing your active pet to a different one and going back and fishing with that pet.

heres what im thinkin, you guys.

My theory is, the more your level goes up, NOT the MORE you catch, but the BETTER you catch. you get better or more rare kinds of fish at Fishing skill 20 then you do at fishing skill 5. So, im thinking, somebody will eventually get to fishing skill 100 or 1000 or whatever, and THEN you can catch a titanic giant squid, and THEN youll get the avatar.
