Hahahaha, I'm so glad I'm not the onlyone that's been displaying my geekery in public!

Daze that's nothing, when the first neopets promotion hit in Canada I was working at a mcdonalds, I used to spend my breaks in the stock room holding all the packages up to the light so I could see what colour the pets were and only collect painted ones! Luckily my boss (I was a manager at the time, she was the head of the restaurant) was a neoaddict as well and when she caught me she said it was fine as long as I found her a starry Uni lol.[/i]

My husband used to simply endure my Neopets playing as I endured his love of old, weird, foreign movies... until one day he saw me playing Meepit vs. Feepit and wanted to play, too.
He's now incredibly obsessed with Meepits and swears that he'll make an account if only he could make a Meepit as a pet.

Although since the Pirate Xweetok came out, he's now become obsessed with painting my Baby Xweetok pirate and getting her a little pirate meepit. He claims then it'll be "his pet".
*headdesk*
At least he plays games with me now, I guess...

Maybe you'll find one of his old weird foreign movies interesting and do the same thing to him? :)

Gotta admit, that entire ordeal sounds cute though. ^^

I haven't really had any experiences like that out in public, except for when I still went to public school. I was getting into a fight with one of the random girls there, and I was about to slip a swearword, I quickly flipped it around and ended up saying "You Korbat!" ..which of course got me a lot of weird looks. Cept from my teacher who pulled me outside and laughed at me, wanting to know if I played Neopets, too. XD

Random bit of Neopets influence from today. I was talking to my brother about a friend of mine being on thin ice at her job. So I said "She had her three write ups, and figures she'll be frozen soon." I meant 'fired' but didnt even realize I'd said something wrong. 8)

I really don't care :P But it cracks me up when they try to understand it, or put it in conversation...
oh and i showed my friend the rainbow nimmo?
she's now set on getting one tattooed on her left shoulder. :P

Ive gotten online at 5am many times because I couldnt fall asleep without knowing if anyone had figured out the next step in the plot, or how to get the latest avatar. It was really bad when people were trying to figure out the last three potions for the ToW. I'd stay up testing and keeping all these extensive notes until I literally couldnt keep my eyes open. I never did that much work in all the high school math classes I failed. But I did it for a Neopets plot.

God, you should see my stuff from that plot. Pages and pages of "recipes" - I had a petpage for the recipes (Red_Citrus22), and every time someone neomailed me, I would write down stuff to work out their combination.

I think I filled half an exercise book ._.

For the last 2 years my boyfriend has watched me play Neopets without saying a word against it (he's good like that ;P). Every so often I would say that he should sign up for an account, to which he always replied "No, thanks." Then, about a month and a half ago, he's sitting in my apartment on is laptop and randomly decides to get an account. Now, I swear he's slightly more addicted than I am! When he comes up to visit me on weekends, he'll play the games for hours... and he's better at them than me!!

For some reason I sometimes have issues telling the difference between cars (I'm bizarre), and when I got my new car, and at first the only way I could tell it was mine from a distance was all the McDonald's Neopets plushies lined up in the back window!

When I first reached the millionaire mark on Neo, I had at least 4 scary dreams where I was in cyberspace and was trying to track down the hacker who had just stolen all my nps.

I love it when I see people in my campus computer labs on Neopets! I wish I had more guts, cuz I'd go over and tell 'em I play too!

Reminds me of the time when I spent all weekend looking for a very hard MP.

I had nightmares in which I was constantly searching for the MP in my sleep - everything in my dream I had to search in case it was the MP.

It was very weird and scary at the same time, because I could not wake up.

LUCKY! I tried getting my fiance into it and he hasn't caught the bug yet. He has an account and looks at stocks every once in a while, but still lets me know if he thinks I'm playing too much (understandably...lol). He's a computer geek and has figured out how the site is run and that's why he doesn't play. He says it would drive him nuts. He's always like "if I were a programmer for Neopets, I would do it this way." Then I'm like "get a job there then." To which he replies "2 reasons why no...California...and [something long and drawn out about how he knows there are lots of programmers there and he probably wouldn't make much difference and all that jazz."

So...yeah...he doesn't play much, but he does love the stock market. And he was always asking about the story line in the ToW plot, so I believe someday he'll get past the issues and get into it. lol...maybe.

I keep saying "poodle" as "Poogle". Urgh.
I hate it when I see a poodle around me, because whenever I say "poodle" out, it'll turn into "Poogle". I always have to correct meself. Can't seem to control it. :\

Wed Jan 10, 2007 7:38 am

LOL i own two poodles, and haven't had that problem yet...
but maybe now i will, since you put that idea in my head *glare*
if i embarrass myself publicly i blame you :P

Wed Jan 10, 2007 7:45 am

I don't normally verbalize the word "poodle," but I mentally think Poogle when thinking Poodle all the time

Thu Jan 11, 2007 2:20 am

great, now i'll really start saying poogle when i'm telling people what king of dogs i have
I can see it now
"what kind of dogs do you have?"
"a miniature and a standard poogle"
"poogle? "
