Eh.

The 'mini' plot that was Altador took a lot more brainpower and skill than the widely advertised and highly rewarded Cup. In fact, I found the cup to be repeditive and boring. I'm not great at games and I could easily beat the other team. Doing the same moves over and over again didn't exactly keep me interested and after the first one and a half rounds I found I just couldn't care anymore.

That said... I reckon the writer of the editorial was just trolling us to get a reaction. (Which worked! I was reduced to a foreman-like rage.) The editorial could be read as: "Don't worry, people are still having trouble with the difficult parts of it. Wasn't that water plant tough?! ... Oh, and because it was just so easy don't expect a huge prize, wink wink, nudge nudge."

Well, if you compare what we had to do in the Altador Plot with all the steps included in the LDP, it really was "mini." I definitely think the Altador Cup, however, was "repetitive and boring," as someone just said a few posts back.

I also think it's kind of strange that they have already issued prizes for the Cup. I dunno....maybe TNT wanted to parallel the World Cup that was going on at the same time so that's what took priority.

The frustrating part for me was when we needed to get three rocks. I might have been doing something wrong, but I had to repeat all the steps ten times before I got the third rock!

Sorry, but I had to respond to this. The Water Plant was not, I repeat: not, a simple combination. Once a lever or valve was changed, water was rerouted. I am glad that most users did not have trouble, but I was at my wits end after 4 days and over 20 hours of clicking orderly and randomly in vain. For that matter, having to revisit a Quarry 10 times is nothing in comparison. I am still psychically scarred by the Water Plant. :P Sigh.

The Altador Plot was definately a mini-plot compared to the LDP. But I think TNT were just joking about "mini" prizes.

The Altador Cup was not a plot, but an event that was put on because of the World Cup. The prizes where given out because when the event finished, it was completely finished, no-one else could compete.

The Altador Plot (although the steps are completed) is still open, with people actually still able to do it. And by the sounds of it, not as many have completed it as TNT wants, so that is why the plot is being held open for so long.

im guessing a lot of people may have stopped when they got to the water bit. Because there is no skill or logic theoritically some people may be stuck on it forever

um, can't you get google to search neopets for it?

oh, but the bots can't see in your account, never mind...

check your sbd?

I'm stuck at the water part now =/

I really hate it.

if it was one page, and more of a puzzle [rather than just random clickage] where it'd be like X lever switches Z valve off, but opens W valve up, filling G bucket, etc.

and you'd try to fill up all the buckets at the same time. [not one full, then emptied, then another filled]

I hated the quarry's small link to get to the castle. I had to tear up the source code file to find the link.

To find the spellbook, use the tab button (plus the sleeper coord. equation) and for the water plant, try the last resort method:

Spellbook-finding instructions also at that page, direct links on the side.

It was found a lil after the last Neopian Times came out because the searches surged greatly due to a response in the Editorial.

This Q and A was in the Editorial (Issue: 253 | 18th day of Hiding, Y8 ):

First and foremost, THANK YOU, TNT for all the effort you put into creating the plots. They're great! I love you guys! :D Now, if you don't mind, *please* clear something up for me. There is great debate over whether any prizes will be given for all the star hunting & mapping that was done in Altador prior to the Altador Cup. Even though King Altador promised we would be rewarded for our efforts, some say there are no plot prizes for the Altador Plot because it was a "mini-plot." They use the fact that Altador Cup prizes have already been awarded as evidence to support their theory (since the AC came after the Altador Plot). Others think the prizes are coming, and patience is a virtue. Would you please settle the debate once and for all? You WILL?!? I *knew* it! You ROCK! –navynora
We love you, too! And patience is a virtue. There's no doubt about that. :D

This particular puzzle was a mini-plot, yes, and it was made to run long so that lots and lots of people could participate. Trust us; many people are still stuck at certain points judging from the rest of the editorial questions. ;) Don't worry. King Altador will not go back on his word. You WILL be mini-rewarded for your mini-efforts on the mini-plot. (In fact, one of the prizes has already been waiting on the server... but you didn't hear that from us.)

I also posted it at the same time on the neoboards under my neopets user, Neodigit7, just so you don't get mixed up.

ok, my brother just started the plot, and hes done all the steps up to the first constellation, but the star finders wont work at all for him
ive double and triple checked, and he has done all the steps, but I can't seem to find his first constellation at all, and when put into the star finder, it says: "bad star data?"
I have no idea what to do, can anyone help?

I was among the first to finish, and I can't wait for the sidebar!!!!
