Your "ultimate" pets

To be quite frank, I'm already gifted with the abillity to get practically whatever pet-colour I want -- all from the generosity of a FFQ. Or atleast the main, more expensive ones, like plushie and grey.

But I still can't seem to decide.

I really want a Krawk, but none of the colours really 'hit' me except this one. Even so, although I'm fond of the happy and circle poses, the battle ones erk me. They go from bulky, tough and slightly obese ( ) oversized Krawky to a slim thin little thing in two seconds flat. D:

The kougra.. I'm not very fond of any poses. Infact, I'm not even that fond of cats!. For some reason whenever I sketch one down comic-style, I fall inlove with it. Maybe it's the tail. I don't know.

I kind of want a Draik, too, just because. But.. I don't know what I'd paint it. Darigan is brilliant, but too sneery for the personality I'd want for it. I can't focus on too many other colours, either.

And for a Xweetok.. Well, I really like them. But it all comes down to how many pets I want on my main, if more than one at all. I'd def. go island for a Xwee though -- I love them to bits.

Edit: This thread is really interesting. It's funny how a lot of people can go for the more popular colours -- mutant draiks, etc -- and how there's always a few with really odd ones you don't see much of!. XD I like it. ^^

Does anyone limit themself to just one for functionality?. I'm having a hard
time deciding what makes me happy and what will work logically.

I can't say I'm rich or overly fortunate, so the major concern is battle and clutterwise. Although I'd train my main battlepet with just codestones (atleast so far), I'm beginning to wonder whether
limiting myself to one pet just for faerie quests is worth it.

Sure, it'll matter when it takes beyond 30k for one coarse, but is it worth
lacking two extra petpages and more room for creativity?.

Especially when I have the names already, and these three pets are the ones
I've been pondering over since I started this account.. ? Hmph. :\

I already own all three of those. And i'm not sure what i'd want for another pet. Hum. I should figure that out. I might change my draik into something else... but who knows.

I have three pets on my main: my battlepet Capi (robot acara), my temporary lab rat, and Zam (mutant zafara). I use the rat as boochi/RE insurance and immediately abandon it if I run across a faerie quest (since I'm only zapping for avatars right now anyway), so I guess I technically only have two pets. Zam is really only there to keep Capi company; my accounts are split into three "families" and I'd feel really weird separating the two.

It's sometimes annoying when Zam gets the rewards for faerie quests, but her stats are high enough to let me consider her a back-up battledome pet, and so long as they're going to either of those girls, I don't really care who gets rewarded in the long run.

I know what you mean. Some pets are so awesome in the default pose, but the other poses are blah. Dx Take the royal boy usul, for example - cool design, laaaame battle poses. The royal boy zafara was better in that respect, but royal boy kyrii won out by far for awesome, clever, well-drawn poses, so that was my final choice. Hopefully you'll find the perfect pet for you too.



I just painted my lupe tyrannian! xD I'm out of name ideas, though, and to me a good name is almost more important than a color, so I guess it'll be a while til I can create the next pet in my plans. ^^

Speaking of which, does anyone have pets that you just cannot give up but which don't fit into you plans? A number of people have mentioned how some pets have to be such-and-such a color/species because you've aleady set their personalities.

I have this problem myself. My beloved eyrie, who was my fist pet and has an amazing name besides, has stayed green so long... He needs to be faerie, but if I have to I will paint him grey (the othe eyrie color I fancy), sadly altering my plan. No matter what, I can't let that pet go. ^^

Poor Kirta the acara and Lontha the lutari are languishing on temporarily neglected side accounts until I decide how to paint them. I'm a perfectionist and don't want to use morphing potions because the height/weight stats won't match...yet I can't bear to abandon them since they have good names and I've got personalities in mind. @_@

However, I did abandon my halloween shoyru. I liked the color, but not enough to keep a space for him. I can't stand to have more than two active accounts, so I can only keep the most "necessary" pets.

I could never do that, considering how many pets I want. XD I'm not even happy with four. I wouldn't be happy with five, or six, or ten! I won't be happy until they let us have enough pets on one account to completely negate the need for side accounts. I hate keeping my pets on side accounts, but I have to because I just can't limit myself to a few pets. But that's just the way I play. Having lots of characters to play around with is much more important to me than stats.

And I have very loose plans that change a lot. I would have never thought I would have a Halloween ixi, but then I suddenly decided I needed one. And two of my pets were found in the pound, I had no plans for them till I saw them and adopted them. And hopefully soon I will get the lab ray, and when I do I won't be zapping trying to get something particular, I'll just keep zapping until I get something cool that strikes me, and inspires me for a character. So who knows what I'll end up with.

I started out with four pets on my main. The battldome didn't exist back then, so there wasn't any reason not to do so. Of course, vision is always 20/20 in hindsight and if I had known I would have only kept one. I trained them all early on, but most of their stats came from the lab. I didn't really have any sort of plans for my side accounts, whatever colors I liked best were the ones I got, but I have rearranged them a bit. They're themed according to their neohome locations and I have neohomes in Shenkuu, Faerieland, and the Darigan Citadel. I'm still waiting to build one on Virtupets. As I said before, I'd love to have a 5th pet slot, but I doubt I would as many pets as I do now if I was forced to keep them all on the same account. Having separate neohomes on different worlds helps me keep them organized.

My grundo, jubjub, and lab pet are the only ones whose species seem to be set in stone for me. The temptation to keep a little moon man or Martian is too great for the scifi geek in me to resist. I can't see my jubjub as anything else, except for maybe a MSP poogle, but that'd be almost impossible to achieve at this point. I want my lab rat to be a kacheek, but I was completely underwhelmed by their so-called fingerless and legless revamp. I'm still holding out for a royal kacheek that resembles Florin or any species of ninja once they finally stop discriminating against them in favor of pirates.

The problem with making a dream pet is that I'd also have to come up with a name. I have the NP to create one of my dream pets - just not the name. And I like only having 2 pets (3 at the moment as I'm labbing a pound pet).

I would like to paint my draik maraquan or maybe royal but half of me is holding out for a grey PB release for him. I want to paint my cybunny something but I'm not sure what... probably plushie but I'm still not sure - pitty the grey one is so oogleh I'm very happy with my orange grundo though (and I love his petpet/petpetpet combo too), and I have a kyrii waiting for a royal pb on a side account.

As for my lab pet I'm just waiting for a species/colour combo that I can't physically bear to zap.

I never have the patience to save up for some PB's, I mean, I can save 500k, but all cool PB's are one million, or more... I should change my PIN, and don't remember it
