Ok ok. Enough of the Random Click Perception vs Mapping It Out rabbling. Take whichever one you want and run with it! //End//

Now, remember guys, I want you to PM a mod if you see something important that needs to be added to the first post. It pinpoints what needs to be added and there's no way it can be lost in the sea of posts in here.

Also, I'm kind of jealous of those who were able to get to the end of the forest with only a few clicks, but then I remember that I was very lucky in the Altador plot. :>

All I can suggest is you haven't been down every path and found the right areas. I had 20 different screens of paths.

This is where mapping becomes a friend. :)

If you can't work out which paths you have been down, start a map.

There are some good screenies mentioned in above posts. :)

If you are still stuck at getting to the correct place for assembling vines, then you might not be clear at where you're trying to go. This was exactly my problem. I tried to find the exact same scene as the one shown for example. However, you only need to get to a scene with an open background that shows the sky. You need only to click that area to start assembling your vines.

It took me a while to realize my stupid error, but I'm glad I figured it out. I just hope I don't make any more errors like that in the future; however, that won't be likely.

I mapped and it wasn't really that hard. But for every trail I went down, there was always one trail that would bring me back where I had just come from.

After going around in circles a few times, you can probably get the idea that there are, at least, some one-way paths you can map out. Actually doing the map reveals that for every path, there is a path back the way you came.

After going around in circles a few times, I simply learned to stop clicking on the path that kept me going around in circles and ended up in new areas. Again I am not arguing, and wish all of you woods-mappers the best of luck (and sorry Scott to post more over this, I have been away an hour or so, not that that is any excuse, heh). But I really don't see the problem. If you consciously know that you clicked the same thing a few times and got back to the same area, you've obviously realized that. Consciously. Noticed. Should be "tangibly" in your mind. So from that, it might occur to someone to click a path other than the one that kept them going around in circles. Click the same thing, get the same undesired effect. Stop. Click something different, get a different more desired effect. Go on. Repeat until you learn not to click in circles I guess? LOL

EDIT: I do really feel 'bad' though, for anyone having trouble in the woods. I had the hardest time of anyone on the Altador Water Plant and the correlation has been mentioned many times, not that I think it is directly related. But the karmic sentiment is there. So I am truly sorry for anyone that has to map their woods.

I wasn't interested in mapping after getting burnt out on that on past plots, and as well I don't have the time to read through every thread and see if this has been mentioned...so just pass by this post if this method of 'mapping' has been discussed. :)

I simply followed each path in order. Click the leftmost path on the first screen, the leftmost path on each subsequent screen, and when I ran out of options and was back at the starting screen I would just click the next path over until finally I was clicking on the rightmost paths. Since a few of the paths loop, I eventually had to mix up my pattern, but quite soon I had all my vines without much effort at all. It was a happy medium between mapping and keeping track that worked well for me.

I DIDN'T get "to be continued."
I got CONTINUE, which took me to this chapter.
 I want a "To Be Continued" to elt myself know that I'm really done for the night!

 @ myself: Or the chapter will say it. I've only stared a few times now at it.
*headdesk* Yup, I think that's my sign that I'm done for the night and should GO TO BED.

Haha, Last night once i got the "Continue" I was uncertain if i actually was finished for the night, so i end up staying up for half an hour longer being paranoid. :) Yeah, I didn't get to study much last night i probably bombed the Social pre-test, but thankfully it was the pre-test. Can't wait for the next part thought.

Thanks for the many helpful suggestions, all. Also wanted to point out that if you've been listening to the Yahoos on the neoboards you might have had a little trouble with the vine thing. There are a bunch of people saying that the vines you put ON THE GROUND are the ones that make your rope. That's totally wrong, and you'd be a doofus for listening to them. Like me.

So... yeah. The vines in your inventory are the ones that make the rope. Should be self-evident (unless you're me...) but hope that helps someone.

My first post! I <3 PPT, and I'm finally a member! :D

A non-mapping/random clicking related topic:

Ilere tells us that there are other denezins of the Haunted Woods older than her that would help us.

Who do you think we are going to have to find? Brain Tree? Escaphangor? Edna? I'd love to see Gilly return to Eliv Thade.

well just finished with the woods. I mapped and got 25 screens. (there were a few paths I didn't need to go down) Much easier than the vines!

Comic is great although I am having trouble picking out whats happening in the scenes sometimes. The art is great but can be hard on the eyes.

Sophie is great.

I think we will have to talk to others in the haunted woods next. Kinda like finding the parchment pieces in the LDP.

I think we might see new characters.

I hear you on the art work and comic. The work is wonderfully done, but the images are really dark...it's hard for me to tell what's going on sometimes. I'm hoping we get another update tonight or tomorrow. I'm definitely enjoying this so far!

Well I got the rest of it pretty quick - the dancing meepits are cute. Thanks for everyone's help. Another place I found useful, the best besides everyone's help here, is jellyneo.net. Oh, and I got it pretty quick without mapping. I did write notes by hand, but from the looks of my paper, it wasn't much use ;) .

showstopper wrote:for those people who did the mapping thingy...

please confirm my research results:

1. the SWAMP map has 5 unique screens (including the stick and hissi screen)
2. the HIGH WOODS map has 22 unique screens (including the stone door)
3. the DEEP WOODS map has 30 unique screens (including the light meepit door)

I didn't map the swamp, so I can't help with that one.
I mapped the high woods, but I didn't map the whole thing, just enough to get the last of my vines when random clicking wasn't working for me. I got 17 screens, so there's a good bet that it would have been 22 had I mapped the whole thing.
I mapped out the whole deep woods, and yes I have exactly 30 unique screens.

When I mapped the high woods I didn't have a clue how to map it, and I ended up with quite a mess. When I did the deep woods I developed a better map. Although I still think it's overly complicated, it worked for me, and it's the best I could do.
Here's my maps so you can laugh at them XD
