Someone has started a rumor that on May 16 neopets is going to change something in the system and that neopets can die. I don't know what the significance of that date is, or why someone started the rumor, or how it started. But it is on the boards now. I know there isn't any truth to this, but I was just wondering if any of you guys heard this before? I mean, the wouldn't let pets die, they'd loose fans and fans = money. Also some young kids couldn't handle the death of their pet, and I am sure some lonely people out there might do something very drastic over the death of a pet, even a virtual pet. You care for an image for too long, it starts to be real to you.

I've never heard this rumor before. O___O; Then again, I don't go on the Neoboards due to fear of being frozen amoung other things. (Such as being scarred for life.)
TNT has said many times that our pets can never die. I mean, can you imagine? Little Timmy and his beloved Aisha...suddenly...*WHAM!* Little's Timmy's Aisha has X's for eyes.
:P

Well maybe our pets can "die" in the war or something. It would be like "Congratulations..you died. But don't worry, you died with honor, and will be remembered in the myths and legend of maraqua as a great hero!" or something like "Yikes, you died. No one liked you anyway, you big mean pirate. Your name shall be remembered as a curse to all." or maybe "You died, and although you are disliked by many, the pirates will all remember you in their myths and legends."

So it wouldn't be a real death, you just couldn't fight in the war anymore.

I don't know. I kind of like that idea but then if they really did that, some of us would die pretty quickly I think. I know my pet would.

Oh, God, that's hilarious! xD

I would hate for Neopets to die... that means I would have to actually feed my pet. :P

I suppose it could be something to do with the war. Then all the supporters would have to help bring back to life the warriors.

Heh heh...big meanie pirate.
Actually, that would be pretty cool. :) I would like to die in the war, instead of just getting beat up to shreds. TNT did say not to "tire your pet out too quickly." But if that did that all their inboxes would be full of complaints. Hmmm.

;_; I'm a mean pirate?

:P Kelpbeard is the one kicking Isca out. ;o And maybe Scarblade has a motive for doing this, like a sister who is dying and he needs a potion to save her, and he needs gold to do that.

The only thing I know that's happening on May 16 is that the guilds will be offline.

Neopets dying and then having to count on supporters to bring them back to life?
No. No way. I'd rather they brought back the illness idea. >.<

It really wouldn't bother me either way, since I keep all my pets lodged most of the time to keep them fed. Since caring for your pets is the main aspect of the game, I do think they should be fed and happy, or have something happen to them. I mean, what's the point of playing a virtural pets site if you don't take care of your pets?

*le spit back out* Smartness hurts my brain. :battar:
I'm not saying supporters are mean, I just wouldn't like to have to rely on them to bring my pet back to life.

I don't know if the supporters are going to be able to bring pets back to life, but what if you have to eat or you need some bandages to heal yourself or medicine or something, and all the stores are closed during the war or something? What if the supporters really are needed drastically during this war. I mean, what if after a battle you simply can't heal your pet without the support coming in from someplace? I suppose this would be more lifelife. I don't know if I like the idea, but it does make since. In real wars, people need to be supported financially. Those who have more money and man power and supplies are going to do better usually. It doesn't really mean that whoever wins the war is right..it just means they are stronger and have more support.
