I checked out my email that I use for my Neopets account today and was surprised to see another password retrieval email on that email account. Argh.. I just hate it when other people attempts to retrieve account details...

I have a friend who was actually locked out because someone tried to get into her account several times in a day. That is so frustrating in her part not getting into her account because someone is so persistent in getting in her account.

Now I wonder what would be the best way to avoid this?

On the other hand, I actually got another reply from the staff. I sent a suggestion to translate the site in a language I know, and she said that they just love receiving feedbacks and they would consider it as the site is undergoing an overhaul. Of course, I am not expecting too much. :)

Cool I take it you speak tagalog as a first language? There's a ton of people who speak it at work, that and vietnamese. I don't understand a word of it, but I can distinguish the two from each other.

I used to send in suggestions and get repies emailed to me but I haven't gotten any replies in a long time. Ah well.

Yeesh. I think it's funny to send random passwords that make no sense, but then Karma or w/e gets me when I can;t log in after some hacker continued to try 'kassisahawty' or some random thing as my pass.

I dunno, I just think it's funny. XD

Yep, I speak tagalog. Maybe they reply to exotic site requests.

Anyway, I can't think of a way on how to get rid of random password retirevers, it irritates me that there are players taking an interest in my mediocre account. And I hate it also when you get locked of an account because there were a lot of attempts to get into your account.

I have been getting alot of lost password requests in my email account lately. At least one a week. It makes me very nervous. My guess is that it is because I have a lot of nice things in my shop--neggs, codestones, PB's and people are either jealous or dumb enough to think that they will be able to crack my password. As a result, I change my passwords about once a week and use passwords that have letters with numbers interspersed within. I also made the answer to my secret question totally random. The answer has nothing to do with the question asked. So, even if someone tries to fish for personal info, they will not be able to answer my secret question.

It is frustrating and I really wish TNT would think of using multiple passwords. In other words, one password to get into your account, but require another password if you want to take nps out of your bank account, items out of your SDB, or your gallery. That way, if you are hacked/scammed/whatever, you can alert TNT and self-freeze the account yet keep the bad person from taking all of your stuff.

Are you playing on a home computer? If you are, maybe you could stay logged into your account at all times. I'm pretty sure you can't get locked out if you do this.

Cranberry, in a way that makes sense because technically you wouldn't have to worry or even think about having to log in, but in a way it doesn't - and it doesn't only because for some inexplicable reason 2 people can (and have) be in an account at the same time. The only way you'd get kicked out in that case (and it doesn't always work) is if the password is changed while you're on the site. You'll suddenly be logged out. And I just don't think it's a good idea to be permanently logged in anywhere.

Also, for alot of people it wouldn't work if they use the internet like I do (and there are other paranoid people like me out there). I know I, as a matter of course and trying to practice safer surfing, clear cookies, temporary internet and history after any site I visit. Just clearing cookies will log you out.

That people seem to have nothing better to do that try to get passwords to steal accounts/items, np, pets from accounts is sickening and frustrating. It's also a freak-out worthy moment when you first see an email from Neo with your password that you didn't request. Only positive thing about that is whoever's trying it is either mistyping their own username or they're really dumb thinking that the password will be sent to THEM and not you.

I'm playing Neo at the office and at home, I use PCs which are both mine. My guess of the PW retrieval is that I have some items in my shop that are quite expensive.

It worries me now 'cause I am currently on top of a high score table (HST), I got a lot of random neofriend requests and neomails begging for items lately. At today's rate, I should expect 10 events everyday, and I am not being bumped off the HST.

Toy, that does sound like the case. For some reason, people with either really large galleries and/or expensive, rare items and those who have uber pets (high stats), have had something published in the NT or are on the high score table seem to get alot of unwanted attention.

Right now, I suggest going to your site preferences and blocking everything - bd challenges, guild invites, neomail except from current nf, nf requests, make it so only nf can send you things, just everything. Change your password often and make it something really weird and random (and write it down so you don't forget it). I would also put something on my lookup saying everything is closed (neomail, etc.) and anything else you think is important to say.

Unfortunately there is, I don't think, nothing TNT can do about these random email lost password requests you keep getting. Just be vigilant, be patient and I hate to say this, but wait till you're not on a high score table. Maybe then this will stop or at least slow down.

I'm not sure if this is already how it works but when you request a password do you not have to enter the e-mail address too?

Surely that would be far more secure and would stop people getting these unwanted password requests? And for those who can't remember which e-mail they used, unless you have 15+ accounts it won't take too long to go through them all, hehe x)
