Other Side of Neopets World

When you click on the explore page, you see the side of the world called 'Neopia'

The other side is yet to be revealed, but the name however is 'Altador'.

Info released on Neopian Times Issue 199 in the editorial section.

I have a feeling Donna meant that one of the new worlds on the other side will be Altador instead of that being the name of the other side itself. :]

but then again, altador sounds like alternate, so it could very well be the name of the opposite side of the world map.

I dunno, maybe. I just don't think it sounds likely since the other side of the earth isn't like Eartador. :O?

No, the name of the next world is going to be called 'Altador'...they said its the name of the new world in the Editorial.

and also in response to the map.......they said in an Editorial a couple months ago that people who use Flash on the site will beable to spin the world around in a 360 degree view...

I'm assuming people using HTML will have 2 maps.

I think they changed it from talador to altador in the same way they changed the mok to lutari - they didn't want to have given away the real name right at the beginning...

Well that makes sense to me, but there must be some kind of land called "talador or Siyana (sp?) will have nowhere to come from!

It wasnt my intention to say that psyll was wrong, I was just theorizing. Blame it on the new HP book

And world names are a big thing to consider

It's not that surprising that they'll change the names of the world if they feel it's not suitable... in fact, the rumored names could have been prototypes of the final name

The like the 360 degree turning ability. It seems cool to me.

but... HTML gotta have 2 maps... It is quite a trouble and doubt many likes it..

There are ways to avoid having two separate pages, so it won't be too painful.

A true 3D version of Neopia in flash would require a lot more modeling than they have at the moment, so the free 360-degree rotation (along which axis?) abilitiy seems doubtful (would probably be Shockwave if they actually pulled that off).
