mëçhå_fåñg4 on the neopet boards says that if you log in to neopets but replace the letters in your name with the same letter but with the alt charactors over it, you can still log in, but your username will have the cool alt charactors like that. I haven't tried it, it sounds neat.

If this is a glitch, it hurts no one. I don't see why they can't just leave it like that. It is kind of fun I think.

I think people are somehow using those alt characters to get that 432 month thing under their names on the boards. It is technically a glitch, and I wouldn't take advantage of it. We all know what can happen when you "take advantage" of a glitch, even one like this that really doesn't do anything for you or give you anything extra.

I still don't see how it hurts anyone. They'll probably fix it after a while anyway.

It has been said to hurt your account. Not being able to change your pet while logged in like that, as well as errors in daily activities, not recieving NP for game scores, and lost items

Ah, I see. Well if it messes stuff up then people wouldn't want to do it. I just thought it looked cool at first. Well the people who were doing that to their name were getting some attention and people wanted to know how it was done. I guess it isn't worth the risk and messing up the account now.

The other day, while I was wasting time at the avatar chat on the neoboards, just about everyone had those special-character names. i signed in using this special little trick (just change one of your letters in your name to a special character that has the same letter) and i found the following consequences:

-it shows all your items as missing/gone
-you can't change your active pet

and i've heard that, from the neoboards,

-you can't use neomail
-you can't send scores from flash games.

but the 432 months status and "gender:unknown" things are what the people want, and at first it was something to gloat about, but now everybody knows. hopefully, nothing bad happens to the people who tried out this glitch...but those who abused it, i hope they suffer....

Post on a board like that and you're reported (not by me, I just mean that in every board like this someone says "reported"). Mmhm. Glitch abusing. But my username is so short on Neopets there's not much I can change in it even if I wanted

Aw. I wish we were allowed to have our usernames like that...I'm not going to try it because I don't want to risk freezing.
