Most of us have favorite pets. Admit it, out of the four (or two, or twenty-six - however big your neopian menagerie is), there's usually one you are more attached to than the others. You might pay more attention to training, rping, drawing, painting this pet, or when you decide to abandon some of your pets you might decide not to part with this one.

Anyway, why do you think that pet became your favorite pet? Did it become your favorite after it was painted, or because it has an awesome name and you found it by luck in the pound? Is it because it has great stats or intelligence that you worked hard to earn for it, or because you wrote it into a story of yours?

For me, I find that my favorite pet is always the oldest pet. I have had five or more main accounts on Neopets (not simultaneously, of course - I mean that I have quit/rejoined Neopets several times, and I always start over from scratch because I can never remember the passwords of my old accounts). Each time, I found that my favorite pet was the one I created first. For example, right now my favorite pet is my eyrie. Even though he is not painted (yet) and he has siblings that are more rare (i.e., painted/limited pets), I like him best, and I have the most expensive color planned for him (...that is, if TNT even decides to release a faerie eyrie...*cough*), and his personality and story are more clearly decided than those of his siblings.

I'm just curious - which of your pets is your favorite, and why do you think that is so?

I had thought long and hard about my pets before I created my account. As I like all things mystical, magical, fantasy - I knew was always going to have a "dragon" and a "unicorn".

I named my first pet accordingly and when able to painted him into a Mutant Draik.

My Uni was adopted (as a newbie, I thought it was a good idea to get a pet from the pound) her name has some numbers in it, which now I don't really like.

My favourite will always be my Draik and he is my battlepet.

Jeordisan is my favourite because he was the first pet I made on my account. Because of this I had already planned to only train him and get stat increases like the shrine with him etc. Hes not my oldest, my oldest is my lab pet at the moment that i adopted from the pound. Hes not painted either (yet), technically my best pet would be my Koi because hes a limited edition pet but I prefer Jeordisan

Technically, my favorite pet is one I no longer have. She was a disco aisha I painted right after they came out, and the first pet I ever bought a paintbrush for. She got lost in a transfer and then her new owner got frozen. My biggest neoregret.

Out of my three right now, my favorite is my youngest. I had created her then forgot about the account, and recently just got her back. I labbed her and she changed into my favorite species within a week. She's not my favorite color right now, but I'm eagerly anticipating painting her faerie.I also kinda spoil her over my other pets. I bought her a faerie slorg, read her books first, and let her be the one to visit coltzan.

Up until I put her back onto my main account, my favorite was my oldest pet though...but now she's too old? I don't know, that sounds awful but she's lost some of her more fun qualities in my mind. Like, she's all grown up, and some of the excitment is gone. (she is over 2400 days old..)

I think I tend to favorite the girls in general. My poor little boy is stuck as a mutant while I contemplate whether or not spending the np for a darigan paint brush is worth it.

There's three that I couldn't possibly part with:

Moxo- My ickle Yellow Ogrin who drives my love for the notorious species. I don't care that he's not painted, or that he's on my side and I can't enter him in the BC anymore; when I thought my side was under threat he was the first and ONLY pet I transferred to my main for safekeeping (even my baby Tonu didn't make the cut). He's back, safe and sound now, but if something were to happen to him... I'd probably quit the site for a good while. The only reason he's not painted yet is because I haven't found a color worthy of him yet.

Capi- My current lab pet and soon-to-be Grey Acara. Her full name is of special significance to me, and though she's probably the most "expendable" of the pets on my main at the moment, given her lab status, I'd be crushed if I lost her in a transfer or to a hacker.

Vo- My Lutari! I couldn't part with him even if I wanted to, knowing that he'd only end up deleted. Giving my pets to new owners is one thing, but wiping them from the face of neopia is a bit more morbid....

The four on my main account are my favorites. It really kind of tore me up to start zapping Wolfishound, but I neeeeeed a battle pet. (well, actually.. really.. really want..) and I'm determined I can save up enough money to paint Lunar royal AND morph (if needed) and paint Wolfy back to normal.

I do love the pets on my sides, but not as much.. ^^"; The ones on my main are the ones I draw, the ones I RP and the ones with the most personality.

my favourite has got to be my oldest-Grastler. Ive had him for the full 6 years ive been on neopets, and ive had...9 I think other pets on my main, hes my battle pet and he totally rules, even though he isn't a kau anymore, but i made a female version of him in tribute, as well as got another kau from the adoption page here (waihola, she is awesome), and my other 2 pets are great as well
eventually, my favourite might be Stratofire, because he will be my favourite colour/species: royalboy uni, but i think that Grastler will always have a special spot in my heart

I'd have to agree that my favorite neopets are the first two I created. I had SarahisQueen the blue shoyru and a few hours later I created Iximcneesey the yellow ixi. SarahisQueen is my lab pet and Iximcneesey I can't bear to lab for fear of a species change. I painted her christmas but I kinda liked her more as a yellow ixi. My other two pets are pound pets, one I've had forever and plan on keeping and the other I'll rerelease into the pound after I've labbed him a bit.

My favorite pet is also my oldest and first pet, my eyrie. I named him after an imaginary Digimon I invented when I was into the whole Digimon/Pokemon thing when I was younger. Nowedays, despite this, he isn't my active pet. I managed to snag a fountain faerie quest and got him painted a nifty color, so I don't want him to be randomly zapped into something . . . less nifty.

My favorite is my Shoyru, and she's the oldest too. She doesnt have the best stats (actually the worst), or the best color, and my Draik has a fancier story and personality, but she was the first! Shoyru's were among the only Neopets I really liked when I started, and she was the first one that I actually paid to paint. (I used the Rainbow Fountain sponsor tickets for the others.) She was my first choice when I started playing, and I had her all alone for a few days before I even thought to create any other pets.

She's a bit like me. Im not as outspoken or wild as my younger brothers and sister, I dont have as many friends, or go out on weekends. But Im cute, and my mom loves me best

I'm guessing most people here will say their fav. pet is their first one Always a soft spot for our first love.

I have two pets on my main account...originally I had four, but I sent the other two to a side account. The two remaining are my favorite pets because they're named after two of my favorite anime characters.

mm My favourite pet tends to change a bit. I think its just whatever pet that I'm saving up to paint or something =D But, my first and usually-favourite pet is my Maraquan Kau Zebzibah. For a start, she was my first, she has a good name, and we've sorta been through alot. She was the first pet I used for the labray and I had her painted maraquan in my first and only FFQ which makes her special. Also she's the only "completed" pet at the moment, with a matching petpet (Maraquan Gruslen) and petpetpet.


One of my old favourites is my retired Lab pet, who started off as a Red Xweetok and is now a Checkered Jetsam. Although I quite like the colour, I no longer particularily like the actual pet. I had my heart set on something cute and cuddly =( Jetsams are definatly not my favourite pet (although it did enable me to get the avvie... ). Only reason I'm not disowning him is because he has a good name

ooo I have a lucky pet! My now-lab pet was for some reason REALLY lucky. Whenever I used him for dailies, I used to do pretty well and have good random events and stuff like that. Its wierd He's not really that lucky anymore. Only really when he was an Island Uni. Now an ugly Blue Bruce. Ick.

My favourite is definitely my first pet on the account I'm currently using, a sometime blue eyrie. I have 4-year-old accounts with slightly newbishly named pets that still have some sentimental value but nothing near as much as those on my current account. Okay, so he's currently a shadow xweetok (and also a she not a he ) but one day soon (hurry up lab) he'll be a maraquan eyrie or a darigan lupe. Not that I'm picky or anything. ^_^;

I picked up a very nicely named pet from the pound who shares equal second place with my lutari. She was a red acara, and I hate acaras, so she's temporarily a green uni while I wait to paint her grey. My lutari is special just for being a lutari with a cool name, really - I haven't put much thought into personality yet. Perhaps when they release a grey lutari I'll pay him more attention.

Talking of which, I've just realised that I've never done any serious art of my pets. Project for this week I think.

After my first account got frozen, I started a new one. I created 4 new pets and named them after the members of my (then) favorite band. Since then, that band broke up and three of them comtinued to make music in two different new bands. Eventually the guitarist & lead singer - who was always my favorite - went solo. The pet named after him used to be a Fire Lupe but after they redrew the Lupes into a much more cutesy form I morphed him into a Kougra and painted him Darigan. He has always been and will always be my favorite pet because of who he was named after.

He was not the first pet I created, and not even the first pet I created when I started fresh. He's not my battle pet either, he's just there to look damn good
