Has anyone ever figured out what the Lutari Talisman beads do?

(I'm considering selling an item I've had in my gallery for a while and buying some, if they're worth getting)

Rumouredly they make you luckier, as in more REs kind of luck, but I'm not sure if anyone has confirmed this. I haven't got a single bead to my name :P
