Has this happened to anyone else? 23 times in the past 5 months someone has requested from neopets the secret word for my side account. The replies, of course, come to me. I'm assuming it's the same person as it would be a coincidence for 23 different people, or even 2 different people to request it. There's nothing on that account except two pets and sometimes a fosterling. This is beginning to spook me!

That's never happened to me, but I have heard of people having others asking for passcodes and such...all I can say is "don't do it," but it seems like you already know that. You should report them the next time it happens.

I get the same thing with my side... someone reeeeally seems to want one of the pets I have over there, because I get tons of password requests. They've slowed down a little recently, but I used to get one every day or two. It doesn't really matter, though; whoever's requesting them doesn't even know which e-mail account I use, let alone the password for it. Just delete and ignore them, and change your Neo password from time to time. Make it really hard to guess. :)

I had that exact same problem... right after I posted a screenie to ppt including my username. Luckily, I realised five minutes later and edited the picture to take out the name or else I might've ended up with even more!

I thought the same thing until I noticed that my username was very close to several other people's usernames. It is perfectly logical that somebody mispelled their username and inadvertantly put in yours. When the password did not work, they requested it and the result goes to you!

Could this being happening to you?

I could see that happening once or twice, stamp, but not 23 times over a period of five months... or every day or two in my case. Most likely the person has their eye on one of the pets on that account.

There's nothing you can do, thpugh; reporting them won't do any good because you don't know who's doing it! Just ignore it, and make sure no one knows which e-mail you're using for the account. They can't get in to your neo account without getting into your e-mail account first and reading the password request mail, and if you've taken the proper precautions, that'll never happen.

Maybe the guy just forgot almost everything, pets, account and all and thought his account name was yours; or just used the auto-save form to submit username, not realizing it was wrong? Possible, but not particularly likely.

I find it really strange that some people keep on sending those request when there is no way of knowing what é-mail you are using. Why do they keep asking for it then? You'd think they get that the first time.

Um, well, like I said, maybe they didn't realize it wasn't really their account.

I did something like that, just not to someone else. I had an old account, which used to be my main until I left for a while. When I came back, I couldn't remember the password. What I also couldn't remember was the email I'd signed up for it with, and that that email had been deactivated due to inactivity.

So, at those random times I felt like trying to get back in, I'd keep sending password requests. The prblem was that, even after I remembered the email address, I didn't realize that I was sending the password request before reactivating my account. I usually sent the request, then when I went to check the email realized it was deactivated again, then reactivated, but the email wouldn't have gone through, heh heh.
