I've got two kinda-trained pets, but I'm not sure which one would be better to battle with.

The first is a poogle that was my lab pet for a while, so it's got high hp, but the rest isn't great.

Lvl : 15
Str : 21
Def : 18
Mov : 11
Hp : 81

The second is a kacheek that I've been training at the school, but not for all that long.

Lvl : 20
Str : 35
Def : 33
Mov : 14
Hp : 26

Oh, and a few other questions. Which school is better to train at, MI or KI? And idb says that you have the ability poogle jump at level one, but my poogle doesn't seem to have it. Is this a glitch, mis-entry at idb, or is there something special about it?

I would go with the Poogle. 81 HP isn't to be dismissed, even if you only get the 1.25 boost (with 2 more pts. of training in defense). Comparing that with the Kacheek, who's got a 1.5 Boost (3 more points in defense), and less than 1/3rd of the Poogle's HP, I think the choice is pretty obvious.

Go with the Kacheek. You're going to have the train the poogle at least 25 levels before you can train your other stats. The codestone prices will be bad compared to training your more balanced one.

Train attack for the poogle to 25 and then it outweighs the kacheek.

Once again, you'd have to train to around level 40 to start doing anything else.

Eh, I guess I wasn't quite clear. I'm definitely training my kacheek. But for battling now in the plot, which one would be more effective? High hp and low attack and defence, or low hp and 35 boost attack and soon to 35 boost defence?

High HP is usually good IF you are paired with weapons with high iconage, otherwise, high everything else except HP becomes preferable but only by a little bit.

However, if you train both defense and strength to 25 for your poogle-[EDIT]train level to 41 first, of course-then your poogle will outweigh your kacheek in effectiveness.

If you need proof that I'm a battler, then search for david0184 for userlookups. You can tell I battled a lot.

[EDIT] OOPS.... Haven't battled for a little while. Forgot that rule. Thanks for reminding me.

You...have to have your level half of your highest stat to train him...he can't "Not train level"...
