i have a spotted paintbrush on the trades right now, and i set my price at 375k np. i got two offers, one of which was very clearly lower than that, and the other was just a maraquan skeith plushie. i tried to look it up in the shop wiz and couldn't find any, so i checked the trading post. the only one i found said it was worth 10 million np and that there were only like five of them in neopia.


is the person who posted that being serious, or are they straight up lying?

I'm not too sure myself, but I think it's one of those hard to find items that no one really knows exists. Because of this, it's also hard to sell, because no one really wants it unless they're a collector or something. That's what it looks like to me.

It's a R93, so while it is valuable, they are straight up lying. It might be a relatively new release, so the price will come down as more enter the economy. Don't accept the offer. You WILL get a decent offer soon.

plus, one thing you always need to remember when somebody offeres a rare and expensive item, is WHY is something priced what it is.... it might only be priced high because there are only 2 or 3 available on the wiz and trades... that DOESNT mean that they are rare, it just might mean they are new or you have to buy them when they are available. There are lots of crappy items like furniture, plushies, and trading cards that sit around and people say they are worth a million neopoints simply because there are only a few around... BUT, and item is ONLY worth what somebody is willing to pay for it! So if somebody says something is worth a lot and you should trade for it, the item might be "going for" a lot on the trading post, but that doesnt mean that you will recieve that many nps for it when YOU try to sell it!

Or perhaps someone bought all those plushies on the shopwizard and they are now trying to trade them in to more expensive items.

I wouldn't accept a trade for a rare plushie. I mean, I had an enchanted kiko squeeze toy and I thought the best offer I got was a rainbow kau plushie and a flotsam wok recipes book. Those are both rare, and therefor worth a lot, but I have yet to sale those. I was going to resale them, but I can't find a buyer who will offer more than 100000 for each. So anyway, just because something is rare doesn't mean you should get it because you'll never get rid of it, so you have to be happy with it because you'll probably be stuck with the thing...at the end of the day it is still a plushie...

I just sold a Maraquan Skeith Plushie for 31K in my shop yesterday. Looks like a case of attempted artificial inflation to me
