Bad Luck

This may be a whiny ranty post (gosh, you people have gotta be sick of these from me by now!) but I'm wondering how many people have had this problem.

Just today, after yet another day of bad-luck from my dailies...another 2 levels off at the lab (thats 16 levels in 9 days), my 10th zrrrrrpt in a row at the PPlab (I haven't had a change in the last three weeks, if I remember correctly), and just loads of fireballs and destruction from the tomb and wheels, (or just stupid advice and game tips from the wheel of knowledge), no advent calendar sidebar again although I went out of my way to make sure I collected..., and the one game I'm really good at was up for about two days before they just took it down for Sloth knows how long... it hit me... how much bad luck can you have on Neopets?

For example... the levels wouldn't be a problem... but I had this problem two months ago and my lab pet (also my battle pet) lost her/his berserk attack. So I trained her/him back up to 65, in hopes that lightning couldn't strike twice, and tried again... and bam, I'm back to 30 in a month. Seriously, what a waste of np. I haven't had a color/species change in over a month... the only positive thing I've had in the last three weeks was negated the next day.

I'm considering a major break from Neopets... but the problem is, I was given Premium as a gift for Christmas. I hate to just drop something when somebody went out of their way to help me out, but this is just irritating as all hell (pardon my language, I can't think of a better phrase right now that wouldn't get me labeled as a potential terrorist... yes, I'm really just that mad right now).

Has anybody else just had a major streak of bad luck? If so, what did you do to fix it? IS there anything you can do?
I consider the people here a PPT sensible and helpful people... so, what would you do in my shoes?

Just wait it out. Premium gives you more RE's so you could win thousands,even millions from premium.

I've had some extreme boughts of bad luck in Neopia, probably for not as long of a streak as you're on, but eventually my luck turned around. I started hitting 10,000 NP on the wheel of excitement and I find codestones like twice a day. Sometimes my dailies give me absolutely nothing for a week straight and then I win at each one.

I wouldn't give up though, especially since you just got premium. And the more you use the Neopets webmail, the more SHH events you get on that as well. Just wait it out, you can't have bad luck forever

And as you can have the portal switched on all the time, in the end it comes down to getting SHHs just for being on Neopets

Thanks for the tips and encouragement.

I've had Premium for a while... I was going to let it expire because I'm moving and really don't have the money for it, but like I said, it was a gift.

I'll keep trying... but lately I've just been wondering if TNT put a pox on my account or something :roll:

Maybe take a small break, if you need to, instead of a major break.

Believe me, I've gotten plenty frustrated with Neopets before, and taking even as short as a two-day hiatus helps me.

Sometimes it also helps me to splurge on something that I've been wanting for a while, like toys for my pets or some garden items or even (if you have enough) a paintbrush for a dream pet. Other times I'll just scale back my Neopets activity significantly - no games or quests, for example - get out my pets' favorite toys, and just play with and groom them for a while. Or I won't get on Neo at all, but work on a petpage or draw pictures of my pets.

Then there's always just working on or doing something else.

The bad luck will pass. :hug:

If any particular activity gets me down for a while then I switch up my schedule. I may avoid daily for a few days and play some new games that I haven't tried in a while. Variety is the key!

I find that donating stuff to the money tree (even if it's junk) usually improves my luck. It's a "virtual karma" thing, I think. It's not really the value but the frequency- give 100 tombola keyrings (@1np ea), stuff like that. I usually just donate what I get from the dalies, unless I'm collecting the item or it's worth a lot (e.g., books, codestones).

Hope your streak ends soon. Maybe you could hang a rabbit's foot and some clovers on your computer?

My goodness...
I'm almost afraid to say anything, in case it's a fluke...
But I decided to go and finish my dailies today (I gave up in disgust halfway through) and give the wheels one last spin before New Years hits...

and it's been decent! Yeah, there was one bad spin, but, I had the referral go through... that's 10 codestones, which will hopefully knock out a bit of the dent made in my battler's levels... (a few minutes later, that's 51k in my shop til!)
And a "You won a Scroll of Flame Strike!" from the WOK...

*crosses fingers* I hope this isn't a fluke, and my luck is finally turning...

But if it isn't, I still say it's the good wishes of the people on PPT helping it turn around. :hug:
