I don't know if you are already aware of this press release. The whole thing can be seen at http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/stori ... 596&EDATE=

The interesting part:

NEW YORK and DALLAS, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Nickelodeon, the
number-one entertainment brand for kids, and MumboJumbo, a leading
developer and publisher of premium online casual games, today announced that the two have entered into a development and publishing partnership for casual games. The companies will work together to publish three casual games in the coming year.

The first of those titles is Charlotte's Web: (...) Other Nickelodeon (...) brands which MumboJumbo will publish and develop games, include Neopets, one of the world's most popular youth websites (...)

"We are excited to enter into a partnership with a company like
MumboJumbo, one of the most trusted and well-respected publishers of
family-friendly, casual games and online PC titles (...)" said Paul Jelinek, Vice President of Digital Media Products for Nickelodeon and MTVN Kids & Family Group. "We're excited to add branded content on some of our top properties to our audience's casual gaming
experience."
(...)

The Avatar and Neopets themed-games will be released in second quarter 2007 and dates will be announced in the coming months.

So, are you people familiar about such company? What can we expect?

I read the article in its entirety. In case you were concerned, Neopets isn't changing hands or being bought out. Viacom is still going to own it. It sounds to me like MumboJumbo is going to produce some of Neopets' games, maybe something for Nintendo, since there is already a Neopets' game for Playstation. Maybe even if we are lucky, some games for the Neopets site. Because they do have some awesome online games, including Luxor, Cubis, and Bejweled. I play all three of those on http://www.zone.com. They are lots of fun and their graphics are awesome.

No, that part I understood. Viacom would never sell Neopets before profiting from it. I just didn't knew exactly what kind of company MumboJumbo was (heh... posting from work, can't go to certain sites).

So, if Neopets will outsource some of it's contend generation, is a good thing.

So... nintendo conections, eh? Whack-a-Staff-Member for Wii?

I don't see any Nintendo connections here, only a couple of PSP titles.

I should have clarified. I don't see any connections there either. However, Nintendo is one of their sponsors. And Nintendo Wii is probably the hottest video game player right now. And Nintendo DS is not too far behind it. So, it would be nice to see a Neopets game for a Nintendo player.

Oh, I misunderstood, blues-maroo. Sorry about that. You should check out some of their games sometime--if you haven't already, that is. I love Bejeweled and just discovered Cubis and am becoming quite addicted to it. Their graphics blow the doors off of just about anything on Neo right now. And, you can play both of them for free on zone.com. It would be sweet if Neo had them produce some of the games on the site.

You are right, Morning. They are pretty good in games.

But enough guessing: we know they will produce ONE neopet game this year. And that's it. Pehaps, in the futere, they will partner more with TNT, making delays less likeable

Isn't Bejeweled by PopCap Games? I know it's been on MSN games recently too, but I remember downloading the original Bejeweled from PopCap a looooong time ago.

Not to deny MumboJumbo of games creation, but I did a google for Cubis as well... and the trail seems to head towards this site as the original creators. I could be completely wrong about that one though, it's so hard to tell. They seem to be taking credit for it on the news page though.

Edit: Aaahh, MumboJumbo seems to be the publisher for those companies, and others. It does make it's own games though, but just not those specific ones.

Oh, thanks for the clarification. I saw the MumboJumbo logo pop up when I played Luxor. So, I looked up their link and saw Cubis and Bejweled there in its list of games and silly me, assumed that MumboJumbo must have created them as well.

That's okay! I would've assumed that too, it's not really made clear anywhere. Hope I didn't seem too nit-picky... I've just been a fan of PopCap for a while :)

Oh no you didn't at all. I like PopCap too. I love Zuma!!! That's my favorite game, well except for Neopets--when it isn't glitchy.
