I don't have one (alas) but I'm just curious just in case I ever got one: can you change the color of any of your pets, or does it have to be your active one? Can you change species or just color? It's nice to dream!

i've never had one either, but as i understand it you get asked to get an item just like any other faerie quest but when you get your prize for getting the item you get a kind of credit at the rainbow pool. That means that when you go visit the rainbow pool you choose what colour you'd like your pet changed to - and you dont have to use it straight away, you can take as long as you like deciding what you want etc!

It can change your active pet's color to almost any color. You can change your active pet if you wish to color any of your pets. It does not change species.

Thanks. The only reason I was asking was because just on the off chance I ever got one, I was wondering if I should keep the pet I want painted active. I won't, since I can change her when/if I ever get it. Right now my active pet is a baby korbat, and I wouldn't change her color to anything else even if I had the option (not a big fan of any other kind of korbat), so I was just making sure.

What colors can't a FFQ do? Is it Lab only colors or something? For some reason I thought it could do all colors.

At one point it could, but they removed some colors from the list (such as Robot). I've had access to the fountain sitting unused since before they changed it, so I saw the change myself.
