Hey. Can someone give me a quick run down on how to go about blocking the various adverts on NP? Did a search on here, found a few bits - installed Adblocker Plus and put some sites in there, its a vast improvement, but i see a lot of mentions of stylescripts and CSS? Anyone care to enlighten me :P Cheers

Chris

I don't know about stylescripts, but this is what I do. (this assuming you have Firefox)

Install Adblock plus. Subscribe to the USA list. This blocks almost everything you could ever want blocked anywhere. (there are other lists for other countries)
Then, for neopets I add in these filters:
http://images.neopets.com/adslug_728.gif
http://images.neopets.com/728ads/
http://images.neopets.com/sponsors/
#div(ad_wrapper_fixed)
#div(ad_wrapper)

Plus this exception rule:
(because some neopet items have ad_ in their name)

Bingo! Absolutely no ads on neopets. :)

I'd like to say thank you so much for this thread. I've been avoiding Neopets because I had blocked all the ads, but something went wrong so all the links at the top were covered up. Those filters instantly solved my problem. :D

Meer, you're a champ. I just got a new computer, and I'd installed the ad-blocking things about 2 years ago, so it was very useful to have something I could easily refer to!!

Gone, forever.
