I had an idea and I wanted to share with everyone.

Tiki Tours on neopets is very old and outdated. Most of the artwork isn't really relevant to the site anymore. So I was thinking that they should update the tours. The least that would happen would be that your pet would come away a bit happier, so that would be good to get it's mood up.

As you tour the island, I think randomly things could happen. I've thought of a few things.

1. You spot a maraquan pet in the waters, such as a maraquan aisha who sits on a rock near the beach, looking pretty and mysterious. Maybe she jumps back into the water and leaves something behind, such as a pretty shell necklace or something, and you take it.

2. You find a collectible shell on the beach.

3. You find some sea glass to use to decorate your neohome or garden.

4. You find an interesting bit of driftwood that looks like something.

5. You find a bit of treasure map.

6. Your party is attacked by something, and you are taken to the battledome to fight. If you win, the grateful villagers give you a lei or some food as a reward.

7. You take the tour and the villagers decide that you are "just in time" for a feast, you are taken to a Luau. (Don't worry, you aren't the main course...this time...)

I could think of many random things that could happen while on tiki tours. So it could be sort of like a choose your own adventure type game, beach combing and berry picking or many other things.

I don't know if they could do something like this on the site where you can start a tour but get random paths to take. I guess they could do it like they do the berry picking game, but depending on where you say you want to go, you can get random things happen along the way.

You could get lucky and have something good happen, or it could be really boring, or you could even get attacked by something, get robbed, or catch a jungle disease.

OH WOW..... that's a really good idea!!

I really do think that the tiki tours needs an update of some sort.... heck make it have bits of flash so we can see something..... I don't even bother with the tiki tours because.... well whats the point.... for the click it takes me i could just play with a toy with my pet.

You're definitely right - I went on one the other day out of sheer nostalgia, and it's definitely outdated.
As long as it's completely random as to what happens (IE, the paths change each time), I can see it as being a lot of fun. If they do make some of the above changes, they'll probably need to up the price, as 50nps isn't much to begin with.

So maybe making it a new daily? Is that what you're saying? Or are you saying it would just be a random event? I think it's a really great idea, but with Tombola and Gerpatiku already being there, I don't know if TNT would put another Daily there...

I occasionally take a tiki tour just to happy up my pets. I would love to see it re-newed.

I definitely agree that the tiki tour could use an update. I still remember when it was first released, way back when, and I can't remember it ever being changed.

Those are all good suggestions on how to make the tour better and spark some interest.

It already does. This was the first thing I did that changed my pet's mood from content to cheerful (also where I first realized you can do stuff to change their moods). But I don't think it cheers them up that much...

I agree with the random events that could happen. As it stands now, tiki tours looks more like a brochure for mystery island. To balance it a bit, maybe your pet could also get sick (so not all events are positive), maybe catch a cold from swimming too long or a sunburn.

Well, I think it could be like the berry picking game. You'd start the tour by going around to various places and learning about them, like the shops and the haiku kougra and the mystic. But then before you left it would say: You can take one jungle path. We aren't sure what will happen if you go, but it is bound to be an adventure for you.

Then you see something like Twisty jungle path, straight jungle path, overgrown jungle path, floral jungle path.

So say you assume that the pretty floral jungle path is the safe one, well..it might not be. It would be random. So you could have one of probably ten different things happen to you.

This could be like a daily, so only once a day. So the booby prize might be something like "You wander down the path and see a lovely view. What a nice walk you had. Good exercise. Your pet feels happier."

Or you might get anything else happen, like you are rushed upon by natives who say you are just in time for a Luau. You worry you will be the main course, but then it is just a fun party. If your pet isn't too full, you can keep some food, sort of like at Kelp.

Or you might be called to defend yourself.

Or maybe someone approaches and hands you a pretty lei or a grass skirt to wear.

Just random stuff.

I really want a way that everyone can get some wearables. They need some wearables that just about anyone can get, and pretty cheaply. I mean, if we assume that pets are all wearing clothing now, there does need to be a way to get a New Member set of clothing from various lands. Maybe each land could have a way.
