I'm interested in selling or trading some of the items I've hung onto for a while, but I want to make sure that the Auctions and Trading Post are working right. The last update I found on PPT was from a few months ago. I don't want to bring back such an old post, so I'm starting a new one.

Any word on their current state? Are they still causing people to lose money or items on occasion?

I belive they both need to be updated badly. Espoecially the search feature and a sort feature. They should include a sort feature so you can browse by category and what not. The search feature half the time is useless.

It is still glitching on returning some items offered on trades. That doesn't effect the person who posted the trade though.

I just bought like seven different 200k+ items for christmas presents, and I had no problems at all.
However, I didn't know there were glitches in the first place, so I don't really know what I should have been looking for. XD

Although the glitches are becoming rare, I still have heard of a few reports, so it's best to be cautious. It's unlikely you'll lose anything, but it's definitely a possibility. This is just plain ridiculous, really. Fun Images can wait, the Auctions and TP can't.

Well to be fair they're from two different departments... the artists don't necessarily know the first thing about the programming of the TP so you can't ask that from them :P But I'd love to know what's keeping the programmers busy from fixing the TP glitches and very simple Daily Dare glitch from last March.

Personally I'm steering clear of buying from the TP. I haven't directly seen any issues from the Auctions so I believe they're a little less risky. Successfully sold a few things through the TP though. :)

Thanks for the update. I'm hearing that the seller usually doesn't have anything to worry about, which makes me feel better right now. I have a pretty pricey item that I'm trying to sell. :)

Also, what is the current limit on how much pure NP one can offer using the TP? Have they changed it in the past year or two? (Been an awful long time since I've been able to deal with this much NP ;) )

Grats on 1337 posts, Metalmario!

You can offer up to 800,000 neopoints on the TP before you have to arrange for an auction. I don't remember if that's a newish limit or not.

It's been 800k ever since I could remember, and I've been on the site 6 1/2 years according to my shield. (Plus a year or so on an old account). (Actually, whenever we were in that guild together, maybe..) So I'd say a good 6 years, because I don't think I really used the TP in my first couple of years on the site.

Gone, forever.

Yup 800k is the highest bid in the TP, but you can always have them bid on a cheaper item(s) to make up the difference...or you could put it up in the Auction House for whatever you like...

If needed, you can do split trades or an auction. (Although split trades are very prone to scamming, so anyone doing it should trust the other person to not run away with their money).
