A series of unfortunate events

Fri Dec 10, 2004 5:25 am

Wow, they've made a movie on the popular series! Anyways, cant wait for the movie. Loved the book. Although, I REALLY DO hope it doesnt come out with too much of a plot change, like Ella Enchanted. =(

Anywho, it seems that they're not just doing ONE book, but like... 5 or 6? I'm not sure, I think they're doing at least 4 books though. I really hope they're doing it up till the Quagmire Twins. Anywho, saw the trailer, played the game, it looks pretty cool.

Lol, listen to me rant on and on. Anywho, (I like that word :P) what do you think? I personnally cant resist ot watch a move that was made from a book that I've liked.

I like the books and from what I've seen so far, I like the movie. I think Jim Carrey was a good choice, as well as a strange choice, for Olaf.

I'm looking forward to watching this when it comes out next week.

It's going to be based on the first 3 books. I really like the series. :)

And there are only 2 more of the books left! -squeals-

Well, I dont wanna spoil too much, but the basic plot is that the three children are orphans, and they travel from relative to relative, and later non-relatives. A mystery starts to develop on book 3-4 and everywhere they go Count Olaf shows up in a bad discuise wanting to get his hands on their fortune.

Yeah, were the trees at the end of the new trailer the street in Ersatz Elevator? Otherwise, I think they'll only get to Wide Window.

It *is* only the first four books. :P

I saw part of the making of the movie on MTV. From what I saw there's the first book, second book, and the book with the house way up in the air over the lake (forget which book it is)

The end is gonna be a scene that's not included in any of the books, but it looks interesting ^_^

Oh man...I'm going to see it on opening night like the true VFD member I am, but I'm not looking forward to it...They completely ruined my favorite character by casting JUDE LAW as Lemony Snicket! I mean, COME ON!

They should've cast Lemony Snicket as Lemony Snicket, because I think all he'll do is narrate and you'll see him writing down stuff...

[Edit] 250th post! Yay! :)

Maybe there will be a series of unfortunate events 2 ;)

Well, the movie only has the first three books in it. Thats "The Bad Beginning", "The Reptile Room" and "The Wide Window". But at the end of the movie they discover the revelation that they find out in "The Horrible Hospital", y'no what I'm talking about. But the HAVE to show Esmee Squalor and The Quagmire Triplets-Of-Two. So there will be a "Lemony Snicket 2". Hopefully :)
