The big screen and the small screen... together at last! Hurrah!

Well there was another topic about star wars, but it got, for reasons i could not discover, locked...
and so here we go: who saw star wars, who is looking forward to ROTS, who has their favorite movie, all opinions about star wars
BTW, originally the 1st death star was 120 KM (193 miles) and the 2nd one was 160 KM (257 miles), but later they calculated and compared the heights of space ships and they came to the conclusion that the first one was 160 KM (257 miles) and the second one even 900 KM (1448 miles)!! aint that big
OH! i almost forgot! if you wanna know all the stuff about star wars, or wich space ships/droids/characters/locations star wars episode III (ROTS) will include, you can check out the
star wars databank! aint that spiffy

*hums theme tune*
Fabby films.
The last bit of Return of the Jedi completely ruins the film, of course. Stupid little bears. But I watch it anyway
The original trilogy was on Tv just a few days ago

I wrote a 10 page paper on father figures in the original Star Wars this semester.
I love the films but I've lost more of my die-hard fandom through the years. I used to eat the books up like no tomorrow. But these days I'm losing intrest. Especially in the "New Jedi Order" series. Whether he approves it or not, once someone other then Lucas writes and kills off major characters, I'm out.
My favorite will always be Episode IV simply because it's the one that started it all.
I have the original trilogy (not the special edition) on VHS and I got the latest DVD box set for Christmas.
The only thing that irritates me now about ROTJ is that they put in a new ghost. Instead of a kindly grandfather-like Anakin Skywalker, they put in someone who looks like Christensen.
But I like the Ewoks. I have a Wicket plushie on my shelf.

Ahh, I'm no Star Wars nerd, but I'd absolutely love to be, there's a definite place in society there!

...I like jarjar binks. *blink*

Yes, I was quite irked that my original topic as locked.
Bascially, I'm a rabid Star Wars fan. My entire room is devoted to the collectible items, I have read pretty much every book, I roleplay and play the miniatures, collect the action figures, go to the conventions . . .
So yeah.

silly bit of trivia, but the guy who played vadar, didnt actually say those lines in the empire strikes back (you know the ones i mean..) they were done on a computer so that the suprise couldnt be leaked.
and slightly stupider Vadar means farther in some language or another (im thinking danish, but if not its a country off that way)
*philip, the man who never actually liked star wars anyway, so isnt bothered by the new trilogy*

nope.
you know it, and i know it.
the original trilogy wasnt his doing, the director, or producer (i forget which one) stopped him from doing his stupid idiotic things that he went and did in the "new 1337 versions!!1111shifteelevenseventeen"
oh well, im gonna be getting loads of flak, simply because my birthdays in march.
everything else is my fault, why not this too?

I like Star Wars too although I would have to say that Jawas are > than Ewoks any day of the week. They're just so adorable!

Awwwwwww man! That doesn't even make sense since Ben and Yoda are still geezers (I'm assuming because they died that way). And Anakin died on the good side as a geezer.
I was all over those credits hoping to find a name because I thought he looked different enough not to be. Maybe it's the hair....

yeah it was in Empire of dreams, a DVD extra movie

vader is father in dutch, i noticed that on the first time i saw star wars and didn't think that it would actually mean something xD, it's just pronounced differently
(a long 'a', as used in 'vader', is being pronounced as an english 'i', for the rest it's the same)

You got the box set?! Then could you please take a gander at my article (found
here at the
Pink Ink, which is something everyone, that's right even you, should be reading) and tell me if you aggree with what I wrote. But I would just like to point out that I never realised that anakin had changed so I'll watch it tonight and see if I can spot it. And I think the past 2 movies have been OK, even if they haven't been up to the standards of the first 3. Maybe it's because they have old man Lucas (that actually sounds right! Thats his new name from now on) is directing it?

Can I say somethig that may sound offensive but I don't want this thread to get locked? Please don't come in here to bash the prequels and say how stupid they are. They aren't the original trilogy, for sure, but in my opinion they are good movies. So please, if you don't have something good to say, please at least tone it down. I don't want this thread to get locked.
