Jerry springer: The Opera

Sun Jan 09, 2005 2:27 pm

Just if anyone had seen this. It was on BBC2 last night and I thought it was the funniest show I had ever seen. The songs were fantastic and well thought out but the funniest part about them was the music they were sung to (there are quite a few Jerry Springer fights that are sung to classical sounding music). But I do see how it is a bit controverstial seeing as it has some "blasphemous" moments and over 8000 swear words. But please try to keep this thread Flame-free and remember this is a family forum.

Is it really possible to have "Family forum", "Flame-free", and "Jerry Springer" in the same topic, and not feel weird? Cause I just typed all of those and I feel kinda weird... They just don't look like they belong together.

Well, I couldn't see it, because due to bad weather the only channel we were receiving was BBC1 Scotland.

I love the little ku klux klan members.

I also love how someone sat down and counted the swear words :P

It was, quite frankly, sickening. Urgh sooo vulgar and God knows I'm not prissy and all innocent/ naive but it was awful.

I was sat there WITH MY NAN watching it. MY NAN!! And my mom and my boyfriend. To be honest, it made me cringe.

I saw some of it. It was odd and I didn't like it.

Well, that's my two cents. lol

Jerry Springer...the Opera? I never even knew it existed! That's pretty interesting, but weird. O__o Could they actually play all of those curses on TV? Or were they just all bleeped out?

Tue Jan 11, 2005 7:45 pm

No, they played the lot. It's apparently the most profane thing the BBC has ever broadcast. One of the lines that was repeated many times was "What the f? What the f? What the effin effin f?" I was not impressed. Neither was nan.

I never even heard of it. I mean I know what the Jerry Springer show is, just never heard of Jerry Springer: The Opera... o_O Seems very strange to me.

Doubt I would've watched it even if I had known about it though. I used to watch that show when it first started getting the way it is now, but now, I haven't watched that show in forever.
The people that go on that show (including the audience) are just... bleh.

I repeat. I was with my nan! I turned it off after that fat bloke confessed his baby fetish. "I just wanna poop my pants". I'll say no more.

Sorry for calling you Twinkly, by the way, not got my eye on the ball there

If you weren't with your nan, what would you have thought? (and it's never a good idea to watch something with 'Jerry Springer' in the title with your nan!)

I didn't get to see it. I was RAISED on Jerry Springer, actually. XD Twinkle, now that you said that, I don't want to see it. It wasn't bad when I watched it, but, boy, has it changed.

I quite like being called Twinkly. :P

Even if I wasn't with my nan I still would have found it sick. There's something about weird sexual baby fetishes that disturbs me.

Now I didn't watch it, but doesn't it condemn this kind of thing? I thought it had something to do with Jerry Springer eventually realizing the kind of evil he was making an accepted part of society.

Or maybe I just heard wrong.
