Rikki-TIkki-Tavi: Animated movie

It's almost EXACTLY like the short story. Except Darzee's wife gets more lines, which in my opinion is a good thing, and there's more songs.

Plus the animation is WONDERFUL compared to what you see on Saturdays these days... and I love the way Rikki moves, love it.

Music not bad either, and Darzee's song at the end makes me cry.

Anyone else seen it? Comments? Criticism?

Dang! That cartoon is a classic! XD I haven't seen it in ages.

Unless you mean a more updated version of the story.

Hmm, I enjoyed the book, maybe I should see the cartoon. I kinda like vintage things (this is an older cartoon, right?)

It's not like i'm subhuman. I probably agree with you on a lot of things, and I most likely have... but probably... you havn't noticed.

Oooh! Rikki-Tikki-Tavi is an adorable movie. I need to watch it again, I haven't seen it in a long time. All I really remember of the movie is the kid trying to feed Rikki-Tikki-Tavi and his mom says he won't be fast anymore if he eats too much. Or maybe that was from the book. Or a dream.

Rikki/Narrator says that... heehee. It's actually before Rikki's voice is introduced, so they just have the narrator saying that Rikki knew that a full meal made a slow mongoose.

And... it's almost word-for-word with the book, except with more singing and Darzee's wife gets more lines.

Is this the same mongoose from the Jungel Book... book? I remember seeing a Jungle Book play in gr 5 (put on by the gr sixes) and it was based more on the book. Anyway there was the mongoose Rikik-Tikki-Tavi that scared away some snakes or something. I just remember he kept repeating his name and saying "That's me!"

If it's not the same character, just ignore me and don't judge me. Though, how many mongoose..es? (mongeese?) do you know with that name?

Yeah! Same one... that's not really Rikki's attitude, he pretty much accepts rewards of bananas and meat and goes on with it, but I can see him going "Yep! That's me!" anyway.

Lovely story.

Not too sure about the film but if i see it hanging around for cheap I might take a look. The story always struck me as rather dark, and from what you posted (which is course just one picture) some of that seems to have been taken away.
