Cursed

Sun Feb 06, 2005 11:43 am

The newest horror movie to work it's way out of the brain of Wes Craven (creator of The Nightmare on Elm Street series as well as the Scream series, and other great films).

"An estranged brother and sister living in Los Angeles, mourning the recent loss of their parents, are brought together by a savage werewolf attack, forcing them to fight for survival, against both the beast and the dangers of its virulent curse."

"A werewolf loose in Los Angeles changes the lives of three young adults, who, after being mauled by the beast, learn they must kill their attacker if they hope to change their fate."

I'm looking forward to seeing this movie. It looks really good, Christina Ricci is a great actress, Wes Craven is a great director, and this looks like it'd be a cool movie.

I hate Christina Ricci and quite frankly the movie looks like a bunch of generic "let's make teenie boppers scream" crapola.
But with that being said, I'll probably end up renting it when it's out on video :P heh

I thought the movie looked great until I realized that the story is about werewolves (which isn't the impression I got from the commercial). Now it does seem sort of generic, but I have free tickets so I better use them. The commercial actually looks interesting though, unlike a lot of the more generic movies that have been thrown around lately.

Might be interesting to watch for the sake of watching another horror movie because I'm a fan of the genre. The whole, fight for survival and kill your attacker reminds me too much of American Werewolf in Paris. Most Werewolf movies are so clique, at least with vampire movies people try and mix it up a bit, they use different theories/beliefs etc. It won't be a movie I'll be rushing out to watch although no doubt I'll end up watching it at some point.

I might rent it if I hear that the werewolves look good. I'm not a big fan of horror (although it doesn't really look all that scary but that's probably even worse) but I do love my werewolves. Using other werewolf movies as a judge however, I predict the werewolf will probably look a bit like a tall, wrinkly, mop-haired gorilla.
