is it me, or does the new series of doctor who on BBC 1 RULE?

I absolutely love their useless special effects. Makes life worthwhile.

Actually, I'm quite enjoying it too. My dad tied me down after getting back from my ski trip and forced me to watch it but it was amusing. I missed it this week though. :(

Your household setup terrifies me.

Also quite enjoying it. Missed last night's, catching it tonight.

Stu claims he told me to pause it when it started...liar.

If I remember correctly (which I probably don't), it's on BBC 3 at 7? But I was only half paying attention when Stu found it.

Welcome to the Doctor Who Fan Club Cassi. I see you took my advice and watched the good doctor. I also missed it last night so I can't wait to see it tonight.

I personally think it's absolutley awful.
The acting is appalling the baddies are rubbish and it's just not very Doctor Who-like.
Christopher Eccleston was very bad choice, and he has quit already hasn't he lol

leave the husband alone...

if he doesn't get some action with rose, i will bang my head against my living room wall

I disagree I think he was a brilliant choice, I had my doubts when it was first announced but definetly the right guy.

It is awful.

Christopher is fine as the doctor, he brings new life to the role. Billie piper however was only cast because 'she was a pop singer this one time.' Tbh she has a horse face and no acting ability.

In addition to this ghastly fact, the show has no redeeming qualities in its storylines. There is nothing scary, nothing, "wow" inducing, nothing at all. Plastic manequins...omg. Blue spectral beings that are gaseous and for some reason will be dispersed by methane being added to a room full of gass...omg. Awful. Just because 'doctor who used to be so scary, you're a New Member because you can't appreciate how good it was, etc etc' is just a load of codswallop. The old vaccine for a flesh eating disease being marvellous is not an excuse for the new one being rubbish. The new doctor who is like a flesh eating disease - Nauseating, often lethal, and readily consigned to povertious african countries by all the sensible people who encounter it.

Right, that post was rubbish Nick. The only part I really understood was the special effects being rubbish. IT WOULDN'T BE DOCTOR WHO IF THE EFFECTS WEREN'T RUBBISH!

No, the special effects are rubbish because it is a bbc production thus is funded by a proportion of the money the bbc makes from tv licenses, which is not enough to create the sort of sfx one would expect from a modern privately funded production.

Also, it had plastic manequins as the pilot villain. So basically, they said "hey, our bad guys are like our actors, and their intrigue and propensity to incite further viewing non existant!"

I still maintain that I love you, however.
