[Please Lock] Anime Versus (Week 12)

Wed Jan 11, 2006 11:32 pm

Greetings, and welcome to Anime Versus. Like it's predecessors, Anime Versus will pit two competitors against each other each week, to see which one PPTers prefer. To vote, please select the anime you like best from the poll at the top of this topic, then feel free to discuss your choice below. The winner of the week will move onto the next round, and will face a new challenger anime. Should an anime win for six weeks straight, it will be removed from the competition and placed into the Anime Hall of Fame.

Last week, Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon defeated Air by seven votes. This week it will face a new shoujo competitor.

With 200 episodes, it originally aired in Japan from 3/7/92 to 2/8/97, with four of the five seasons having been translated and shown on American television.*

Tsukino Usagi was your average junior high student. Well, maybe a bit below-average. Between failing grades, a tendency toward oversleeping, and a near-terminal case of clumsiness, she hardly seems like the first choice for a guardian of justice. As her dear friends and fellow Senshi gather around her, she’ll face evil forces, true love, and her own destiny.

It has to be Rayearth! You can not compare Sailor Moon to a show that is at least ten times better. Better characters, better stories, more believable plot, better art. It is a no-brainer.

I hope the one I vote for wins this time :P

Definitely Sailor Moon again...

i've never seen rayearth, apart from some of the mangas that i found in our school library. sailor moon all the way!

Tough choice for me, I love them both. While I really love the artstyle used in Rayearth, I think I'll have to go with BSSM. Between nostalgia (it was the first anime that I knew was anime...although MKR was my second) and the fact that there are just so many good characters, it just seems to be the better choice for me. Definitely a very close call though.

Magic Knight Rayearth ^^; Sounds more interesting.

Sailor. Moon. Again.
Wheeee. :P

Sailor Moon wins, 12 votes to 3 (or at least that's the number at the time of this post, I doubt MKR's going to manage a come back in the next 8 hours :P)

Anime Versus is going on hiatus for the time being.
