Virtual T.V Ads.

Have you ever noticed it? When ever you skip the commericals and you're watching your favourite T.V show.. and then a virtual a.d places it's self somewhere on your t.v show.

I was watching CBC News and they showed a segment of Will and Grace. The scene was in a kitchen and they said "Notice that Splenda box on the kitchen shelf, its not real (its a virtual ad), but you wouldn't know it."

Virtual Ads, happen everywhere. When you're watching the Super Bowl, or maybe even the Apprentice.. Here in Canada, Global has the MOST virtual ads.

Oh...you mean product placement? That's terribly commomplace now. Quite saddening.

In fact, I'd go as far as saying the entire Apprentice show is product placement. Those tasks don't even have anything to do with training people to be Donald Trump's employee, they're just gruelling meaningless tasks designed to support whoever's sponsoring the show. That being said, it's occasionally fun to watch people grovelling over such gruelling tasks, but it gets tiring after you realise how pointless it is. :P

LOL.. Yeah, one contestant who got fired left in a taxi cab, and then on the top of the taxi cab, what do you know it? it says Casino Rama. And you can easily tell it was edited.

Of course products in TV shows aren't real. Food is often fake too.

So wait. When I'm watching TNG or DS9 and Worf eating Heart of Targ and fresh gagh then washes it down with Blood Wine, that was not real targ, gagh, or blood wine! :x What a gip :x

Ah, one thing we Brits do win on - for now at least. I don't think I could watch US TV, product placement AND double the Ads.

Product placement? Yeah, I don't even notice it anymore. It certainly doesn't change what I buy, though.
