She's a pretty popular J-Pop artist. I was gonna do Ayumi Hamasaki, but from what I could tell, she hadn't released anything in a while, so I did Koda Kumi instead.

I despise J-Pop. There was a J-Pop channel on my trans-Atlantic flight. I listened to it. It looped every hour and a half. I wanted to kill myself with that music. Or the person snoring next to me. But mostly myself.
Besides, Pink Floyd, the Wall, yay!

Well, if you're going to choose an artist that hardly anyone's heard of in Japanese, I nominate La Oreja de Van Gogh. They're a Spanish band (from Spain). Their songs are in Spanish. 
But they're known in Spain and some of South America.
