Next week will be a competitor that is not a cartoon! Amazing! But for now, who will it be?

Family Guy

42%

Total votes : 33

Versus: Television (Week 3) - Please Lock

Fri Aug 04, 2006 2:39 am

Last week, Futurama took on The Simpsons. They lost. Oh well. 32 votes were cast (that's one less than week one, for shame!) . The Simpsons had 59% of the vote with 19 votes total, and Futurama took the remaining 40% (actually, it would be 41%, but the poll decided it was only 40%) with 13 votes total. And this week, The Simpsons will take on... Family Guy. DUNDUNDUN.

Week Three

The Simpsons VS. Family Guy!

***

Previous Competitors
Grey's Anatomy (Lost Week 1 to Futurama)
Futurama (Won Week 1, lost to The Simpsons)
The Simpsons (Won Week 2-?)

***

Coming Soon

Suggestions are greatly appreciated. Any television show is open for suggestion, whether it's a reality show, a soap opera, or a cartoon; still filming, or cancelled years ago.

The longest running comedy and longest running animated show of all time or one of the few shows to grow more popular and get picked up again after being canceled?

I'll go with the better written and higher quality Family Guy thank you.

Defiantly The Simpsons.
I never really got into Family Guy - it just seemed rather dumb (not that The Simpsons isn't) and my ex would constantly talk about it, which completely turned me off of it.

There are definitely times when Family Guy makes me laugh so much I end up crying, so Family Guy it is for me!

Family Guy, much more entertaining, and one of the few things on TV that are actually funny (well, probably THE funniest thing on TV).

C'mon, the father/son bonding episode? Absolutely GENIUS. xD

You mean the one where Peter is jealous of certain qualities of Chris' anatomy? That one was amazingly funny.

Family Guy, for the win! I love it! *pokes her box sets + the movie*

The Simpsons, although it isn't as consistent, at least it didn't get cancelled. It's more intelligent and better written while Family Guy relies on too many cutaways, 80's references, and um...bodily sounds jokes. The plots are always weak or non-existent.

(I love Family Guy too, but I think it really went downhill since being uncancelled.)

Not sure, I had only seen this one clip of it. It was where Lois says that Peter should bond with Stewie, so while they're in the kitchen, Peter accidently knocks over a some canned goods on Lois and Stewie laughs, so he proceeds to throw canned goods at her because it makes Stewie happy. xD (then it proceeds to go onto the bathroom scene, which is probably the funniest part of the clip)

Hil - Plots don't really matter in a comedy, in fact, it bogs them down. ._.

The Simpsons came before family guy so it has been my old time favourite so I vote for The Simpsons.

I like how you won't get all of the jokes unless you watch a ton of TV. The 80s references do that well. I also like it when they occasionally reference children's TV shows that I remember, like Sesame Street.

Ditto. The Simpsons it is.

I don't know, I guess I don't get into cartoons like this much, but I said the Simpsons.

Let's go shows Matt likes!

You didn't just say that? I'm not saying people don't find Family Guy funnier, and to some people it is, but no one in a million years can bring up an argument that family guy is better written. Have you seen Last Exit to Springfield, 22 Short Films About Sprinfield, Trilogy of Error, The Seemingly Never-Ending Story or Sumer of 4'2''? Find any Family Guy that is better written (not neccisarily funnier, but even that is debatable) than any of these.

Guess what I voted.

I voted for The Simpsons. I don't like either much, but I like that one more. lol
