Scrubs

Fri Dec 01, 2006 9:15 pm

So, who caught the season premiere last night? What did you think?

The opening was a little too random for my taste, and that's saying something. Still, the ringtone sequences and the callbacks to the deck and CALL-TURK gags rocked. Dr. Kelso was excellent in this episode, I must say. :)

I can't wait for Turk and Carla's baby to be born later in the season--which is the exact opposite of my usual thoughts on TV babies. Maybe it's because I liked the way they handled the Jack storyline so much, but I actually don't think that this is an upcoming shark jump. I'm going to wait until it's a bit clearer as to what's going on with the other two pregnancies before I pass judgment on those storylines, though.

Overall, I loved it. I'm glad we didn't have to wait for January for new Scrubs like last season.

I'm currently whizzing through season 2 and I LUFF IT! It's made me really sarky though so it has its side effects :D

Now that it doesn't clash with House and Veronica Mars (I can watch two shows that are on the same time slot without having to bother taping), I can finally add Scrubs to my already jammed Thursday TV schedule.

Having only started watching last season and only sometimes, I thought it was a pretty good episode, especially with the whole ringtone thing. The mirror image schtick was a little cheesy (in a bad way) though, and I was mostly questioning JD's attitude towards the pregnancy. Apprehensive I can understand, but random I don't.

Reading up on reviews, the general consensus seems to be that it was an off episode, but I have to say that it's still a lot funnier than some of the garbage that's airing currently.

Oh yeah, what's up with Dr. Cox's hair? It...changed.

I used to love Scrubs, but I've barely watched the past couple seasons. The show used to have a very nice mix of zany and serious moments, but lately it's just seemed entirely random and off-the-wall, and it's too much for me. I will be tuning in to catch Franklyn's return, though. He's played by Masi Oka, who is Hiro on Heroes, and apparently he's coming back to Scrubs with Hiro's powers intact. ;)

The first time I saw Scrubs was on Comedy Central when they went to sydication. After two episodes, I ran out and bought all the dvds :) I"ve seen all of 1-4, some of 5, depending on what Comedy Central is playing, and I was very excited that I caught up just in time for 6.
I'm in the minority, but I liked the new episode. My favorite part was Kelso dancing to the ringtone.
And Cox's hair was horrible. What was he thinking? Just that one episode was almost enough to kill my secret crush on him. I had to watch him in a few old episodes before it was gone forever!

Supposedly John McGinley (Dr. Cox) gets a better haircut at some point later in the season. That's what I heard, anyway--could be wrong.

I think that this episode did feel a little off, though. Kim's pregnancy made things really complicated, and it would have been a little out of character for J.D. not to be freaked out and obnoxious about it at first. That's how he reacts to surprises. Add in the zany season-opener setpieces, and it felt really disjointed. It was about as good as it could be, considering the circumstances, but I think next episode will be much better.

I haven't heard much about Franklyn's return. The character's great, though, so I'm happy. Will the superpowers be part of a fantasy sequence, or what?

I'm not going to lie. I never watched Scrubs til I started watching the reruns on Q2. I really love the show and am really excited about this season. I was laughing so hard, it was crazy.

I agree that the episode was maybe a little off, but not so much I don't love scrubs and I'm not going to keep watching. But what I agree with most is that dr. cox needs a haircut. That was driving me mad the whole time ><

I really like Scrubs, but it's on at an awful time. Thursdays is "CSI" and "The O.C."...I already have to tape one show since those are both on at the same time. I can't add another show at the same time :( Why can't they have it on Wednesdays? There's nothing on Wednesdays that is worth my time.

yay! Carla had her baby!

Eeee! Isabella is so cute! I love her already. The next episodes will be really fun, I think.

Good on Kelso for coming through and saving the day. (Okay, to prevent a lawsuit, but still!) I like how Kelso's been this season. I can't wait for the His Story episode narrated by him later this season.

Dr. Cox didn't appear to have had a haircut, but at least they styled it better in this episode.

Sure thing! I heard it all fell through, though... I guess he was too busy when he was supposed to go film it. :(
